We define an analogue of the Casimir element for a graded affine Hecke algebra $$ \mathbb{H} $$ , and then introduce an approximate square-root called the Dirac element. Using it, we define the Dirac cohomology$H$^{$D$}($X$) of an $$ \mathbb{H} $$ -module$X$, and show that$H$^{$D$}($X$) carries a representation of a canonical double cover of the Weyl group $$ \widetilde{W} $$ . Our main result shows that the $$ \widetilde{W} $$ -structure on the Dirac cohomology of an irreducible $$ \mathbb{H} $$ -module$X$determines the central character of$X$in a precise way. This can be interpreted as$p$-adic analogue of a conjecture of Vogan for Harish-Chandra modules. We also apply our results to the study of unitary representations of $$ \mathbb{H} $$ .

Motivated by spectral gluing patterns in the Betti Langlands program, we show that for any reductive group G, a parabolic subgroup P, and a topological surface M, the (enhanced) spectral Eisenstein series category of M is the factorization homology over M of the E2-Hecke category H_{G,P} =IndCoh(LS_{G,P}(D^2, S^1)), where LS_{G,P}(D^2, S^1) denotes the moduli stack of G-local systems on a disk together with a P-reduction on the boundary circle. More generally, for any pair of stacks Y → Z satisfying some mild conditions and any map between topological spaces N → M, we define (Y, Z)^{N,M} = Y^N ×_{Z^N} {Z^M} to be the space of maps from M to Z along with a lift to Y of its restriction to N. Using the pair of pants construction, we define an E_n-category H_n(Y, Z) = IndCoh_0((Y, Z)^{S^n−1,D^n})_{Y}), and compute its factorization homology on any d-dimensional manifold M with d ≤ n, \int_M H_n(Y, Z) = IndCoh_0(Y, Z)^{∂(M×D^n−d),M}_{Y^M}, where IndCoh_0 is the sheaf theory introduced by ArinkinGaitsgory and Beraldo. Our result naturally extends previous known computations of Ben-Zvi–Francis–Nadler and Beraldo.

Let A be a graded algebra. In this paper we develop a generalized Koszul theory by assuming that A_0 is self-injective instead of semisimple and generalize many classical results. The application of this generalized theory to directed categories and finite EI categories is described.

Let $\Lambda$ be a finite dimensional algebra and $G$ be a finite group whose elements act on $\Lambda$ as algebra automorphisms. Under the assumption that $\Lambda$ has a complete set $E$ of primitive orthogonal idempotents, closed under the action of a Sylow $p$-subgroup $S \leqslant G$, we show that the skew group algebra $\Lambda G$ and $\Lambda$ have the same finitistic dimension and the same strong global dimension if the action of $S$ on $E$ is free. Using a homological characterization of piecewise hereditary algebras proved by Happel and Zacharia, we deduce that $\Lambda G$ is piecewise hereditary if and only if $S$ acts freely on $E$ and $\Lambda$ is piecewise hereditary as well.

We analyze the asymptotic behavior of certain twisted orbital integrals arising from the study of affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties. The main tools include the Base Change Fundamental Lemma and q-analogues of the Kostant partition functions. As an application we prove a conjecture of Miaofen Chen and Xinwen Zhu, relating the set of irreducible components of an affine Deligne-Lusztig variety modulo the action of the σ-centralizer group to the Mirkovic-Vilonen basis of a certain weight space of a representation of the Langlands dual group.

n this paper we study representations of skew group algebras $\Lambda G$, where $\Lambda$ is a connected, basic, finite-dimensional algebra (or a locally finite graded algebra) over an algebraically closed field $k$ with characteristic $p \geqslant 0$, and $G$ is an arbitrary finite group each element of which acts as an algebra automorphism on $\Lambda$. We characterize skew group algebras with finite global dimension or finite representation type, and classify the representation types of transporter categories for $p \neq 2,3$. When $\Lambda$ is a locally finite graded algebra and the action of $G$ on $\Lambda$ preserves grading, we show that $\Lambda G$ is a generalized Koszul algebra if and only if so is $\Lambda$.

We study rooted cluster algebras and rooted cluster mor-phisms which were introduced in [1]recently and cluster struc-tures in 2-Calabi–Yau triangulated categories. An example of rooted cluster morphism which is not ideal is given, this clar-ifyinga doubt in [1]. We introduce the notion of freezing of a seed and show that an injective rooted cluster morphism always arises from a freezing and a subseed. Moreover, it is a section if and only if it arises from a subseed. This answers the Problem 7.7 in [1]. We prove that an inducible rooted clus-ter morphism is ideal if and only if it can be decomposed as a surjective rooted cluster morphism and an injective rooted cluster morphism. For rooted cluster algebras arising from a 2-Calabi–Yau triangulated category Cwith cluster tilting ob-jects, we give an one-to-one correspondence between certain pairs of their rooted cluster subalgebras which we call com-plete pairs (see Definition2.27) and cotorsion pairs in C.

In this paper, we build the unfolding approach from acyclic sign-skew-symmetric matrices of finite rank to skew-symmetric matrices of infinite rank, which can be regard as an improvement of that in the skew-symmetrizable case. Using this approach, we give a positive answer to the problem by Berenstein, Fomin and Zelevinsky in [6] which asks whether an acyclic signskew- symmetric matrix is always totally sign-skew-symmetric. As applications, the positivity for cluster algebras in acyclic sign-skew-symmetric case is given; further, the F-polynomials of cluster algebras are proved to have constant term 1 in acyclic sign-skew-symmetric case.

We give two homological proofs of the Noetherianity of the category FI, a fundamental result discovered by Church, Ellenberg, Farb, and Nagpal.

In this paper we give an explicit algorithm to construct the ordinary quiver of a finite EI category for which the endomorphism groups of all objects have orders invertible in the field k. We classify all finite EI categories with hereditary category algebras, characterizing them as free EI categories (in a sense which we define) for which all endomorphism groups of objects have invertible orders. Some applications on the representation types of finite EI categories are derived.

Using the Nakayama functor, we construct an equivalence from a Serre quotient category of a category of finitely generated modules to a category of finite-dimensional modules. We then apply this result to the categories FI_G and VI_q, and answer positively an open question of Nagpal on representation stability theory.

Let V⊆A be a conformal inclusion of vertex operator algebras and let C be a category of grading-restricted generalized V-modules that admits the vertex algebraic braided tensor category structure of Huang-Lepowsky-Zhang. We give conditions under which C inherits semisimplicity from the category of grading-restricted generalized A-modules in C, and vice versa. The most important condition is that A be a rigid V-module in C with non-zero categorical dimension, that is, we assume the index of V as a subalgebra of A is finite and non-zero. As a consequence, we show that if A is strongly rational, then V is also strongly rational under the following conditions: A contains V as a V-module direct summand, V is C_2-cofinite with a rigid tensor category of modules, and A has non-zero categorical dimension as a V-module. These results are vertex operator algebra interpretations of theorems proved for general commutative algebras in braided tensor categories. We also generalize these results to the case that A is a vertex operator superalgebra.

In this paper we study derived equivalences between triangular matrix algebras using certain classical recollements. We show that special properties of these recollements actually characterize triangular matrix algebras, and describe methods to construct tilting modules and tilting complexes inducing derived equivalences between them.

We prove the Mirković–Vilonen conjecture: the integral local intersection cohomology groups of spherical Schubert varieties on the affine Grassmannian have no$p$-torsion, as long as$p$is outside a certain small and explicitly given set of prime numbers. (Juteau has exhibited counterexamples when$p$is a bad prime.) The main idea is to convert this topological question into an algebraic question about perverse-coherent sheaves on the dual nilpotent cone using the Juteau–Mautner–Williamson theory of parity sheaves.

We study the fundamental groups of the exchange graphs for the bounded derived category D(Q) of a Dynkin quiver Q and the finite-dimensional derived category D(Gamma_N Q)of the Calabi–Yau-N Ginzburg algebra associated to Q. In the case of D(Q), we prove that its space of stability conditions (in the sense of Bridgeland) is simply connected. As an application, we show that the Donaldson–Thomas type invariant associated to Q can be calculated as a quantum dilogarithm function on its exchange graph. In the case of D(Gamma_N Q), we show that the faithfulness of the Seidel–Thomas braid group action (which is known for Q of type A or N=2) implies the simply connectedness of the space of stability conditions.

In this paper, we give geometric realizations of Lusztig's symmetries. We also give projective resolutions of a kind of standard modules. By using the geometric realizations and the projective resolutions, we obtain the categorification of the formulas of Lusztig's symmetries.

A decorated surface S is an oriented surface, with or without boundary, and a finite set {s 1,..., s n} of special points on the boundary, considered modulo isotopy. Let G be a split reductive group over [special characters omitted].

In this paper, we reprove a global converse theorem of Cogdell and Piatetski-Shapiro using purely global methods.

We give a finite presentation for the braid twist group of a decorated surface. If the decorated surface arises from a triangulated marked surface without punctures, we obtain a finite presentation for the spherical twist group of the associated 3-Calabi–Yau triangulated category. The motivation/application is that the result will be used to show that the (principal component of) space of stability conditions on the 3-Calabi–Yau category is simply connected in the sequel [King and Qiu, Invent. Math., to appear].

Let $A = \bigoplus _{i \geqslant 0} A_i$ be a graded locally finite $k$-algebra where $A_0$ is a finite-dimensional algebra whose finitistic dimension is 0. In this paper we develop a generalized Koszul theory preserving many classical results, and show an explicit correspondence between this generalized theory and the classical theory. Applications in representations of certain categories and extension algebras of standard modules of standardly stratified algebras are described.

We relate commutative algebras in braided tensor categories to braid-reversed tensor equivalences, motivated by vertex algebra representation theory. First, for C a braided tensor category, we give a detailed construction of the canonical algebra in C⊠C^rev: if C is semisimple but not necessarily finite or rigid, then ⨁X∈Irr(C) X′⊠X is a commutative algebra, with X′ a representing object for Hom_C(∙⊗_C X,1_C). Conversely, let A=⨁i∈I U_i ⊠ V_i be a simple commutative algebra in U⊠V with U semisimple and rigid but not necessarily finite, and V rigid but not necessarily semisimple. If the unit objects of U and V form a commuting pair in A, we show there is a braid-reversed equivalence between subcategories of U and V sending U_i to (V_i)*. When U and V are module categories for simple vertex operator algebras U and V, we glue U and V along U⊠V via a map τ: Irr(U)→Obj(V) such that τ(U)=V to create A=⨁X∈Irr(U) X′⊗τ(X). Thus under certain conditions, τ extends to a braid-reversed equivalence between U and V if and only if A is a simple conformal vertex algebra extending U⊗V. As examples, we glue Kazhdan-Lusztig categories at generic levels to obtain new vertex algebras extending the tensor product of two affine vertex algebras, and we prove braid-reversed equivalences between certain module categories for affine vertex algebras and W-algebras at admissible levels.
