Given a Lagrangian sphere in a symplectic 4–manifold $(M, \omega)$ with $b^{+}=1$, we find embedded symplectic surfaces intersecting it minimally. When the Kodaira dimension  $\kappa$ of $(M,\omega)$ is $-\infty$, this minimal intersection property turns out to be very powerful for both the uniqueness and existence problems of Lagrangian spheres. On the uniqueness side, for a symplectic rational manifold and any class which is not characteristic, we show that homologous Lagrangian spheres are smoothly isotopic, and when the Euler number is less than 8, we generalize Hind and Evans’ Hamiltonian uniqueness in the monotone case. On the existence side, when  $\kappa=-\infty$, we give a characterization of classes represented by Lagrangian spheres, which enables us to describe the non-Torelli part of the symplectic mapping class group.

We prove that the distribution of eigenvectors of generalizedWigner matrices is universal both in the bulk and at the edge. This includes a probabilistic version of local quantum unique ergodicity and asymptotic normality of the eigenvector entries. The proof relies on analyzing the eigenvector flow under the Dyson Brownian motion. The key new ideas are: (1) the introduction of the eigenvector moment flow, a multi-particle random walk in a random environment, (2) an effective estimate on the regularity of this flow based on maximum principle and (3) optimal finite speed of propagation holds for the eigenvector moment flow with very high probability.

We show that in many examples the non-displaceability of Lagrangian submanifolds by Hamiltonian isotopy can be proved via Lagrangian Floer cohomology with non-unitary line bundle. The examples include all monotone Lagrangian torus fibers in a toric Fano manifold (which was also proven by Entov and Polterovich via the theory of symplectic quasi-states) and some non-monotone Lagrangian torus fibers.

We introduce new boundary conditions for differential forms on symplectic manifolds with boundary. These boundary conditions, dependent on the symplectic structure, allows us to write down elliptic boundary value problems for both second-order and fourth-order symplectic Laplacians and establish Hodge theories for the cohomologies of primitive forms on manifolds with boundary. We further use these boundary conditions to define a relative version of the primitive cohomologies and to relate primitive cohomologies with Lefschetz maps on manifolds with boundary. As we show, these cohomologies of primitive forms can distinguish certain Kahler structures of Kahler manifolds with boundary.

We make the elementary observation that the Lagrangian submanifolds of$C$^{$n$},$n$≥3, constructed by Ekholm, Eliashberg, Murphy and Smith are non-uniruled and, moreover, have infinite relative Gromov width. The construction of these submanifolds involve exact Lagrangian caps, which obviously are non-uniruled in themselves. This property is also used to show that if a Legendrian submanifold inside a contactisation admits an exact Lagrangian cap, then its Chekanov–Eliashberg algebra is acyclic.

Let$C$and$C$′ be two smooth self-transverse immersions of$S$^{1}into ℝ^{2}. Both$C$and$C$′ subdivide the plane into a number of disks and one unbounded component. An isotopy of the plane which takes$C$to$C$′ induces a one-to-one correspondence between the disks of$C$and$C$′. An obvious necessary condition for there to exist an area-preserving isotopy of the plane taking$C$to$C$′ is that there exists an isotopy for which the area of every disk of$C$equals that of the corresponding disk of$C$′. In this paper we show that this is also a sufficient condition.

We carry out the SYZ program for the local Calabi--Yau manifolds of type $\widetilde{A}$ by developing an equivariant SYZ theory for the toric Calabi--Yau manifolds of infinite-type. Mirror geometry is shown to be expressed in terms of the Riemann theta functions and generating functions of open Gromov--Witten invariants, whose modular properties are found and studied in this article. Our work also provides a mathematical justification for a mirror symmetry assertion of the physicists Hollowood--Iqbal--Vafa.

We introduce filtered cohomologies of differential forms on symplectic manifolds. They generalize and include the cohomologies discussed in Papers I and II as a subset. The filtered cohomologies are finite-dimensional and can be associated with differential elliptic complexes. Algebraically, we show that the filtered cohomologies give a two-sided resolution of Lefschetz maps, and thereby, they are directly related to the kernels and cokernels of the Lefschetz maps. We also introduce a novel, non-associative product operation on differential forms for symplectic manifolds. This product generates an A-infinity algebra structure on forms that underlies the filtered cohomologies and gives them a ring structure. As an application, we demonstrate how the ring structure of the filtered cohomologies can distinguish different symplectic four-manifolds in the context of a circle times a fibered three-manifold.

In this paper, we first provide an explicit description of {\it all} holomorphic discs (``disc instantons'') attached to Lagrangian torus fibers of arbitrary compact toric manifolds, and prove their Fredholm regularity. Using this, we compute Fukaya-Oh-Ohta-Ono's (FOOO's) obstruction (co) chains and the Floer cohomology of Lagrangian torus fibers of Fano toric manifolds. In particular specializing to the formal parameter T^{2}= e^{-1} , our computation verifies the folklore that FOOO's obstruction (co) chains correspond to the Landau-Ginzburg superpotentials under the mirror symmetry correspondence, and also proves the prediction made by K. Hori about the Floer cohomology of Lagrangian torus fibers of Fano toric manifolds. The latter states that the Floer cohomology (for the parameter value T^{2}= e^{-1} ) of all the fibers vanish except at a finite number, the Euler characteristic of the toric manifold, of base points in the momentum polytope that are critical points of the superpotential of the Landau-Ginzburg mirror to the toric manifold. In the latter cases, we also prove that the Floer cohomology of the corresponding fiber is isomorphic to its singular cohomology.

We study Nakai-Moishezon type question and Donaldson’s “tamed to compatible” question for almost complex structures on rational four manifolds. By extending Taubes’ subvarieties-currentform technique to J-nef genus 0 classes, we give affirmative answers of these two questions for all tamed almost complex structures on S^2 bundles over S^2 as well as for many geometrically interesting tamed almost complex structures on other rational four manifolds, including the del Pezzo ones.

Lagrangian Floer homology in a general case has been constructed by Fukaya, Oh, Ohta and Ono, where they construct an A-algebra or an A-bimodule from Lagrangian submanifolds. They developed obstruction and deformation theories of the Lagrangian Floer homology theory. But for obstructed Lagrangian submanifolds, the standard Lagrangian Floer homology cannot be defined. We explore several well-known homology theories on these A-objects, which are Hochschild and cyclic homology for an A-objects and ChevalleyEilenberg or cyclic ChevalleyEilenberg homology for their underlying L-objects. We show that these homology theories are well-defined and invariant even in the obstructed cases. Due to the existence of m 0, the standard homological algebra does not work and we develop analogous homological algebra over Novikov fields. We provide computations of these homology

The tetrahedron possesses a certain symmetry: namely rotation of angle$π$in the middle points of a certain pair of its skew edges.
