We study the limit of quasilocal energy defined in [7] and [8] for a family of spacelike 2-surfaces approaching null infinity of an asymptotically flat spacetime. It is shown that Lorentzian symmetry is recovered and an energy-momentum 4-vector is obtained. In particular, the result is consistent with the Bondi–Sachs energy-momentum at a retarded time. The quasilocal mass in [7] and [8] is defined by minimizing quasilocal energy among admissible isometric embeddings and observers. The solvability of the Euler-Lagrange equation for this variational problem is also discussed in both the asymptotically flat and asymptotically null cases. Assuming analyticity, the equation can be solved and the solution is locally minimizing in all orders. In particular, this produces an optimal reference hypersurface in the Minkowski space for the spatial or null exterior region of an asymptotically flat spacetime.

We construct gradient K\"ahler-Ricci solitons on Ricci-flat K\"ahler cone manifolds and on line bundles over toric Fano manifolds. Certain shrinking and expanding solitons are pasted together to form eternal solutions of the Ricci flow. The method we employ is the Calabi ansatz over Sasaki-Einstein manifolds, and the results generalize constructions of Cao and Feldman-Ilmanen-Knopf.

We define the quantum correction of the Teichmller space \mathcal {T} of Calabi-Yau manifolds. Under the assumption of no weak quantum correction, we prove that the Teichmller space \mathcal {T} is a locally symmetric space with the Weil-Petersson metric. For Calabi-Yau threefolds, we show that no strong quantum correction is equivalent to that, with the Hodge metric, the image \mathcal {T} of the Teichmller space \mathcal {T} under the period map \mathcal {T} is an open submanifold of a globally Hermitian symmetric space \mathcal {T} of the same dimension as \mathcal {T} . Finally, for Hyperkhler manifold of dimension \mathcal {T} , we find both locally and globally defined families of \mathcal {T} and \mathcal {T} -classes over the Teichmller space of polarized Hyperkhler manifolds.

We construct many self-similar and translating solitons for Lagrangian mean curvature flow, including self-expanders and translating solitons with arbitrarily small oscillation on the Lagrangian angle. Our translating solitons play the same role as cigar solitons in Ricci flow, and are important in studying the regularity of Lagrangian mean curvature flow. Given two transverse Lagrangian planes Rn in Cn with sum of characteristic angles less than π, we show there exists a Lagrangian self-expander asymptotic to this pair of planes. The Maslov class of these self-expanders is zero. Thus they can serve as local models for surgeries on Lagrangian mean curvature flow. Families of self-shrinkers and self-expanders with different topologies are also constructed. This paper generalizes the work of Anciaux [1], Joyce [12], Lawlor [15], and Lee and Wang [18, 19].

In this paper we introduce the interpolationdegeneration strategy to study KhlerEinstein metrics on a smooth Fano manifold with cone singularities along a smooth divisor that is proportional to the anti-canonical divisor. By interpolation we show the angles in (0, 2] that admit a conical KhlerEinstein metric form a connected interval, and by degeneration we determine the boundary of the interval in some important cases. As a first application, we show that there exists a KhlerEinstein metric on P 2 with cone singularity along a smooth conic (degree 2) curve if and only if the angle is in (/2, 2]. When the angle is 2/3 this proves the existence of a SasakiEinstein metric on the link of a three dimensional <i>A</i> ₂ singularity, and thus answers a question posed by GauntlettMartelliSparksYau. As a second application we prove a version of Donaldsons conjecture about conical Khler
