In this paper, we extend the work in \cite{D}\cite{ChrusLiWe}\cite{ChrusCo}\cite{Co}. We weaken the asymptotic conditions on the second fundamental form, and we also give an $L^{6}-$norm bound for the difference between general data and Extreme Kerr data or Extreme Kerr-Newman data by proving convexity of the renormalized Dirichlet energy when the target has non-positive curvature. In particular, we give the first proof of the strict mass/angular momentum/charge inequality for axisymmetric Einstein/Maxwell data which is not identical with the extreme Kerr-Newman solution.

We consider surfaces with parallel mean curvature vector (pmc surfaces) in complex space forms and introduce a holomorphic differential on such surfaces. When the complex dimension of the ambient space is equal to two we find a second holomorphic differential and then determine those pmc surfaces on which both differentials vanish. We also provide a reduction of codimension theorem and prove a non-existence result for pmc 2-spheres in complex space forms.

We develop deformation theory for abelian invariant complex structures on a nilmanifold, and prove that in this case the invariance property is preserved by the Kuranishi process. A purely algebraic condition characterizes the deformations leading again to abelian structures, and we prove that such deformations are unobstructed. Various examples illustrate the resulting theory, and the behavior possible in three complex dimensions.

In this paper we investigate a kind of generalized Ricci flow which possesses a gradient form. We study the monotonicity of the given function under the generalized Ricci flow and prove that the related system of partial differential equations are strictly and uniformly parabolic. Based on this, we show that the generalized Ricci flow defined on an n-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold admits a unique short-time smooth solution. Moreover, we also derive the evolution equations for the curvatures, which play an important role in our future study.

The limiting behavior of the normalized KÄahler-Ricci °ow for manifolds with positive ¯rst Chern class is examined under certain stability conditions. First, it is shown that if the Mabuchi Kenergy is bounded from below, then the scalar curvature converges uniformly to a constant. Second, it is shown that if the Mabuchi Kenergy is bounded from below and if the lowest positive eigenvalue of the ¹@y ¹@ operator on smooth vector ¯elds is bounded away from0 along the °ow, then the metrics converge exponentially fast in C1 to a KÄahler-Einstein metric.
