We prove that any constant mean curvature embedded torus in the three dimensional sphere is axially symmetric, and use this to give a complete classification of such surfaces for any given value of the mean curvature.

In this paper, we investigate the geometric properties of random hyperbolic surfaces of large genus. We describe the relationship between the behavior of lengths of simple closed geodesics on a hyperbolic surface and properties of the moduli space of such surfaces. First, we study the asymptotic behavior of Weil-Petersson volume Vg,n of the moduli spaces of hyperbolic surfaces of genus g with n punctures as g → ∞. Then we discuss basic geometric properties of a random hyperbolic surface of genus g with respect to the Weil-Petersson measure as g → ∞.

In this article we give necessary and sufficient conditions for an irreducible K¨ahler C-space with b2 = 1 to have nonnegative or positive quadratic bisectional curvature, assuming the space is not Hermitian symmetric. In the cases of the five exceptional Lie groups E6,E7,E8, F4,G2, the computer package MAPLE is used to assist our calculations. The results are related to two conjectures of Li-Wu-Zheng.

The classical Minkowski formula is extended to spacelike codimension-two submanifolds in spacetimes which admit "hidden symmetry" from conformal Killing-Yano two-forms. As an application, we obtain an Alexandrov type theorem for spacelike codimension-two submanifolds in a static spherically symmetric spacetime: a codimension-two submanifold with constant normalized null expansion (null mean curvature) must lie in a shear-free (umbilical) null hypersurface. These results are generalized for higher order curvature invariants. In particular, the notion of mixed higher order mean curvature is introduced to highlight the special null geometry of the submanifold. Finally, Alexandrov type theorems are established for spacelike submanifolds with constant mixed higher order mean curvature, which are generalizations of hypersurfaces of constant Weingarten curvature in the Euclidean space.

In this paper, we show that any compact K\"ahler manifold homotopic to a compact Riemannian manifold with negative sectional curvature admits a K\"ahler-Einstein metric of general type. Moreover, we prove that, on a compact symplectic manifold $X$ homotopic to a compact Riemannian manifold with negative sectional curvature, for any almost complex structure $J$ compatible with the symplectic form, there is no non-constant $J$-holomorphic entire curve $f:\C\> X$.
