In a previous paper, we studied certain random walks on the hyperbolic graphs $X$ associated with the self-similar sets $K$, and showed that the discrete energy ${\mathcal E}_X$ on $X$ has an induced energy form ${\mathcal E}_K$ on $K$. The domain of ${\mathcal E}_K$ is a Besov space $\Lambda^{\alpha, \beta/2}_{2,2}$ where $\alpha$ is the Hausdorff dimension of $K$ and $\beta$ is a parameter determined by the ``return ratio" of the random walk. In this paper, we consider the functional relationship of ${\mathcal E}_X$ and ${\mathcal E}_K$. In particular, we investigate the critical exponents of the $\beta$ in the domain $\Lambda^{\alpha, \beta/2}_{2,2}$ in order for ${\mathcal E}_K$ to be a Dirichlet form. We provide some criteria to determine the critical exponents through the effective resistance of the random walk on $X$, and make use of certain electrical network techniques to calculate the exponents for some concrete examples.

In this paper we continue to advance the theory regarding the Riesz fractional gradient in the calculus of variations and fractional partial differential equations begun in an earlier work of the same name. In particular we here establish an L1 Hardy inequality, obtain further regularity results for solutions of certain fractional PDE, demonstrate the existence of minimizers for integral functionals of the fractional gradient with non-linear dependence in the field, and also establish the existence of solutions to corresponding Euler-Lagrange equations obtained as conditions of minimality. In addition we pose a number of open problems, the answers to which would fill in some gaps in the theory as well as to establish connections with more classical areas of study, including interpolation and the theory of Dirichlet forms.

We obtain characterizations of positive Borel measures$μ$on$B$^{$n$}so that some weighted holomorphic Besov spaces$B$_{$s$}^{$p$}($ω$,$B$^{$n$}) are embedded in$L$^{$p$}($d$$μ$).

We prove that if$μ$is a$d$-dimensional Ahlfors-David regular measure in $${\mathbb{R}^{d+1}}$$ , then the boundedness of the$d$-dimensional Riesz transform in$L$^{2}($μ$) implies that the non-BAUP David–Semmes cells form a Carleson family. Combined with earlier results of David and Semmes, this yields the uniform rectifiability of$μ$.

We prove a mean ergodic theorem for amenable discrete quantum groups. As an application, we prove a Wiener type theorem for continuous measures on compact metrizable groups.
