We introduce a new model for elliptic fibrations endowed with a Mordell-Weil group of rank one. We call it a Q _7 (\mathscr {L},\mathscr {S}) model.

Gravitational waves are predicted by the general theory of relativity. It has been shown that gravitational waves have a nonlinear memory, displacing test masses permanently. This is called the Christodoulou memory. We proved that the electromagnetic field contributes at highest order to the nonlinear memory effect of gravitational waves, enlarging the permanent displacement of test masses. In experiments like LISA or LIGO which measure distances of test masses, the Christodoulou memory will manifest itself as a permanent displacement of these objects. It has been suggested to detect the Christodoulou memory effect using radio telescopes investigating small changes in pulsar's pulse arrival times. The latter experiments are based on present-day technology and measure changes in frequency. In the past decade, tremendous efforts have been made towards understanding fermionic symmetry protected topological (FSPT) phases in interacting systems. Nevertheless, for systems with continuum symmetry, e.g., electronic insulators, it is still unclear how to construct an exactly solvable model with a finite dimensional Hilbert space in general. In this paper, we give a lattice model construction and classification for 2D interacting electronic insulators. Based on the physical picture of U(1)_f-charge decorations, we illustrate the key idea by considering the well known 2D interacting topological insulator. Then we generalize our construction to an arbitrary 2D interacting electronic insulator with symmetry Gf=U(1)_f ⋊_{ρ_1,ω_2} G, where U(1)_f is the charge conservation symmetry and ρ_1,ω_2 are additional data which fully characterize the group structure of G_f. Finally we study more examples, including the full interacting classification of 2D crystalline topological insulators.

We consider a kinetic model of self-propelled particles with alignment interaction and with precession about the alignment direction. We derive a hydrodynamic system for the local density and velocity orientation of the particles. The system consists of the conservative equation for the local density and a non-conservative equation for the orientation. First, we assume that the alignment interaction is purely local and derive a first order system. However, we show that this system may lose its hyperbolicity. Under the assumption of weakly non-local interaction, we derive diffusive corrections to the first order system which lead to the combination of a heat flow of the harmonic map and Landau-Lifschitz-Gilbert dynamics. In the particular case of zero self-propelling speed, the resulting model reduces to the phenomenological Landau-Lifschitz-Gilbert equations. Therefore the present theory provides a kinetic formulation of classical micromagnetization models and spin dynamics.

Warped conformal field theory (WCFT) is a two dimensional quantum field theory whose local symmetry algebra consists of a Virasoro algebra and a U(1) Kac-Moody algebra. In this paper, we study correlation functions for primary operators in WCFT. Similar to conformal symmetry, warped conformal symmetry is very constraining. The form of the two and three point functions are determined by the global warped conformal symmetry while the four point functions can be determined up to an arbitrary function of the cross ratio. The warped conformal bootstrap equation are constructed by formulating the notion of crossing symmetry. In the large central charge limit, four point functions can be decomposed into global warped conformal blocks, which can be solved exactly. Furthermore, we revisit the scattering problem in warped AdS spacetime (WAdS), and give a prescription on how to match the bulk result to a WCFT retarded Green’s function. Our result is consistent with the conjectured holographic dualities between WCFT and WAdS.
