In this note, we use Curtis's algorithm and the Lambda algebra to compute the algebraic Atiyah-Hirzebruch spectral sequence of the suspension spectrum of \mathbb {R} P^\infty with the aid of a computer, which gives us its Adams \mathbb {R} P^\infty -page in the range of \mathbb {R} P^\infty . We also compute the transfer map on the Adams \mathbb {R} P^\infty -pages. These data are used in our computations of the stable homotopy groups of \mathbb {R} P^\infty in [6] and of the stable homotopy groups of spheres in [7].

Motivated by the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy of biofluids (urine and blood serum), we present a recursive blind source separation (rBSS) method for nonnegative and correlated data. BSS problem arises when one attempts to recover a set of source signals from a set of mixture signals without knowing the mixing process. Various approaches have been developed to solve BSS problems relying on the assumption of statistical independence of the source signals. However, signal independence is not guaranteed in many real-world data like the NMR spectra of chemical compounds. The rBSS method introduced in this paper deals with the nonnegative and correlated signals arising in NMR spectroscopy of biofluids. In the paper, we study the three-dimensional Prandtl equations, and prove that if one component of the tangential velocity field satisfies the monotonicity assumption in the normal direction, then the system is locally well-posed in the Gevrey function space with Gevrey index in ] 1, 2]. The proof relies on some new cancellation mechanism in the system in addition to those observed in the two-dimensional setting.

Let M 4n be a complete quaternionic K¨ahler manifold with scalar curvature bounded below by .16n(n + 2). We get a sharp estimate for the first eigenvalue λ1(M) of the Laplacian, which is λ1(M) ≤ (2n + 1)2. If the equality holds, then either M has only one end, or M is diffeomorphic to R × N with N given by a compact manifold. Moreover, if M is of bounded curvature, M is covered by the quaterionic hyperbolic space QHn and N is a compact quotient of the generalized Heisenberg group. When λ1(M) ≥ 8(n+2) 3 , we also prove that M must have only one end with infinite volume.
