Alexandrov proved that any simplicial complex homeomorphic to a sphere with strictly non-negative Gaussian curvature at each vertex can be isometrically embedded uniquely in {{\mathbb {R}}}^{3} as a convex polyhedron. Due to the nonconstructive nature of his proof, there have yet to be any algorithms, that we know of, that realizes the Alexandrov embedding in polynomial time. Following his proof, we developed the adiabatic isometric mapping (AIM) algorithm. AIM uses a guided adiabatic pull-back procedure on a given polyhedral metric to produce an embedding that approximates the unique Alexandrov polyhedron. Tests of AIM applied to two different polyhedral metrics suggests that its run time is sub cubic with respect to the number of vertices. We study reactive front speeds in randomly perturbed cellular flows using a variational representation for the front speed. We develop this representation into a computational tool for computing the front speeds without resorting to closure approximations. We demonstrate that the front speeds depend on flow statistics and topologies in a complex and dramatic manner.

Let G=(V,E) be a locally finite connected weighted graph, and Ω be an unbounded subset of V. Using Rothe's method, we study the existence of solutions for the semilinear heat equation ∂_t u+|u|^{p−1}⋅u=Δu (p≥1) and the parabolic variational inequality ∫_{Ω^∘} ∂_t u⋅(v−u)dμ ≥ ∫_{Ω^∘} (Δu+f)⋅(v−u)dμ for any v∈H, where H={u∈W^{1,2}(V):u=0 on V∖Ω^∘}.

We construct gradient K\"ahler-Ricci solitons on Ricci-flat K\"ahler cone manifolds and on line bundles over toric Fano manifolds. Certain shrinking and expanding solitons are pasted together to form eternal solutions of the Ricci flow. The method we employ is the Calabi ansatz over Sasaki-Einstein manifolds, and the results generalize constructions of Cao and Feldman-Ilmanen-Knopf.
