Manifold parameterizations have been applied to various fields of commercial industries. Several efficient algorithms for the computation of triangular surface mesh parameterizations have been proposed in recent years. However, the computation of tetrahedral volumetric mesh parameterizations is more challenging due to the fact that the number of mesh points would become enormously large when the higher resolution mesh is considered and the bijectivity of parameterizations is more difficult to guarantee. In this paper, we develop a novel volumetric stretch energy minimization algorithm for volume-preserving parameterizations of simply connected 3-manifolds with a single boundary under the restriction that the boundary is a spherical area-preserving mapping. In addition, our algorithm can also be applied to compute spherical angle- and area-preserving parameterizations of genus-zero closed surfaces, respectively. Several numerical experiments indicate that the developed algorithms are more efficient and reliable compared to other existing algorithms. Numerical results on applications of the manifold partition and the mesh processing for three-dimensional printing are demonstrated thereafter to show the robustness of the proposed algorithm.

We propose to study the Hessian metric of given functional in the space of probability space embedded with L^2–Wasserstein (optimal transport) metric. We name it transport Hessian metric, which contains and extends the classical L^2–Wasserstein metric. We formulate several dynamical systems associated with transport Hessian metrics. Several connections between transport Hessian metrics and math physics equations are discovered. E.g., the transport Hessian gradient flow, including Newton’s flow, formulates a mean-field kernel Stein variational gradient flow; The transport Hessian Hamiltonian flow of negative Boltzmann-Shannon entropy forms the Shallow water’s equation; The transport Hessian gradient flow of Fisher information forms the heat equation. Several examples and closed-form solutions of finite-dimensional transport Hessian metrics and dynamics are presented.

Very few previous studies have examined the forecast and delimiting of TV dramas evaluating indicators problem from the machine learning and statistic perspective. In this paper, we designed a series of web crawlers for collecting TV-drama-related indicators as raw data. The accurate prediction of the TV drama audience ratings and online views is achieved by the ARIMA model, RNNs, CLDNNs and RVM model. Statistical methods are applied to analyze and compare the TV ratings and the online views. Factor analysis is used to give a definition and calculation method of heat of TV dramas and rankings of the TV dramas based on heat. Finally, mixed CNNs is employed to predict heat of TV dramas using data of different dimensions. In this paper, web-crawler, traditional statistical method and the state-of-the art deep learning techniques are combined to give a basic application for predicting and ranking in TV drama industry.

Traditional point cloud registration methods require large overlap between scans, which imposes strict constraints on data acquisition. To facilitate registration, users have to carefully position scanners to ensure sufficient overlap. In this work, we propose to use high-level structural information (i.e., plane/line features and their inter-relationship) for registration, which is capable of registering point clouds with small overlap, allowing more freedom in data acquisition. We design a novel plane/linebased descriptor dedicated to establishing structure level correspondences between point clouds. Based on this descriptor, we propose a simple but effective registration algorithm. We also provide a dataset of real-world scenes containing a larger number of scans with a wide range of overlap. Experiments and comparisons with state-of-the-art methods on various datasets reveal that our method is superior to existing techniques. Though the proposed algorithm outperforms state-of-the-art methods on the most challenging dataset, the point cloud registration problem is still far from being solved, leaving significant room for improvement and future work.
