In this paper, we investigate the space of certain weak stability conditions on the triangulated category of D0-D2-D6 bound states on a smooth projective Calabi-Yau 3-fold. In the case of a quintic 3-fold, the resulting space is interpreted as a universal covering space of an infinitesimal neighborhood of the conifold point in the stringy K¨ahler moduli space. We then associate the DT type invariants counting semistable objects, which give new curve counting invariants on Calabi-Yau 3-folds. We also investigate the wall-crossing formula of our invariants and their interplay with the Seidel-Thomas twist.

We develop a theory to connect the following three areas: (a) the mean field equations on flat tori, (b) the classical Lame equations and (c) modular forms. A major theme in part I is a classification of developing maps f attached to solutions of the mean field equation according to the types of transformation laws (or monodromy) with respect to the period lattice satisfied by f.

In Berenstein and Rupel (2015), the authors defined algebra homomorphisms from the dual Ringel-Hall algebra of certain hereditary abelian category \mathcal{A} to an appropriate q-polynomial algebra. In the case that \mathcal{A} is the representation category of an acyclic quiver, we give an alternative proof by using the cluster multiplication formulas in (Ding and Xu, Sci. China Math. 55(10) 2045–2066, 2012). Moreover, if the underlying graph of Q associated with \mathcal{A} is bipartite and the matrix B associated to the quiver Q is of full rank, we show that the image of the algebra homomorphism is in the corresponding quantum cluster algebra.

In 1975, P. Erd\"{o}s proposed the problem of determining the maximum number $f(n)$ of edges in a graph with $n$ vertices in which any two cycles are of different lengths. In this paper, it is proved that $$f(n)\geq n+\frac{107}{3}t+\frac{7}{3}$$ for $t=1260r+169 \,\ (r\geq 1)$ and $n \geq \frac{2119}{4}t^{2}+87978t+\frac{15957}{4}$. Consequently, $\liminf\sb {n \to \infty} {f(n)-n \over \sqrt n} \geq \sqrt {2 + \frac{7654}{19071}},$ which is better than the previous bounds $\sqrt 2$ (Shi, 1988), $\sqrt {2.4}$ (Lai, 2003). The conjecture $\lim_{n \rightarrow \infty} {f(n)-n\over \sqrt n}=\sqrt {2.4}$ is not true.
