We introduce and study the notion of singular hermitian metrics on holomorphic vector bundles, following Berndtsson and Păun. We define what it means for such a metric to be positively and negatively curved in the sense of Griffiths and investigate the assumptions needed in order to locally define the curvature Θ^{$h$}as a matrix of currents. We then proceed to show that such metrics can be regularised in such a way that the corresponding curvature tensors converge weakly to Θ^{$h$}. Finally we define what it means for$h$to be strictly negatively curved in the sense of Nakano and show that it is possible to regularise such metrics with a sequence of smooth, strictly Nakano negative metrics.

A simplicial complex Δ is called$flag$if all minimal nonfaces of Δ have at most two elements. The following are proved: First, if Δ is a flag simplicial pseudomanifold of dimension$d$−1, then the graph of Δ (i) is (2$d$−2)-vertex-connected and (ii) has a subgraph which is a subdivision of the graph of the$d$-dimensional cross-polytope. Second, the$h$-vector of a flag simplicial homology sphere Δ of dimension$d$−1 is minimized when Δ is the boundary complex of the$d$-dimensional cross-polytope.

The image of the Gauss map of any oriented isoparametric hypersurface in the standard unit sphere $S^{n+1}(1)$ is a minimal Lagrangian submanifold in the complex hyperquadric $Q_n(\mathbb{C})$. In this paper we show that the Gauss image of a compact oriented isoparametric hypersurface with $g$ distinct constant principal curvatures in $S^{n+1}(1)$ is a compact monotone and cyclic embedded Lagrangian submanifold with minimal Maslov number $2n/g$. We obtain the Hamiltonian stability of the Gauss images of homogeneous isoparametric hypersurfaces of classical type with $g = 4$. Combining with our results in [25] and [27], we completely determine the Hamiltonian stability of the Gauss images of all homogeneous isoparametric hypersurfaces.
