This paper is concerned with the existence of constant scalar curvature Kähler metrics on blow-ups at finitely many points of compact manifolds which already carry constant scalar curvature Kähler metrics. We also consider the desingularization of isolated quotient singularities of compact orbifolds which carry constant scalar curvature Kähler metrics.

Children learn effortlessly by example and exhibit a remarkable capacity of generalization. The field of machine learning, on the other hand, stumbles along clumsily in search of algorithms and methods, but nothing available today comes even close to an average two-year-old toddler. So, modestly, we present some results on one of the main paradigms in machine learningnearest neighbor methods. Rummaging through old data for the closest match seems like a sensible thing to do, and that primitive idea can be formalized and made rigorous. In the field of nonparametric statistics, where one is concerned with the estimation of densities, distribution functions, regression functions, and functionals, the nearest neighbor family of methods was in the limelight from the very beginning and has achieved some level of maturity.

In [SW2], we defined a generalized mean curvature vector field on any almost Lagrangian submanifold with respect to a torsion connection on an almost K\"ahler manifold. The short time existence of the corresponding parabolic flow was established. In addition, it was shown that the flow preserves the Lagrangian condition as long as the connection satisfies an Einstein condition. In this article, we show that the canonical connection on the cotangent bundle of any Riemannian manifold is an Einstein connection (in fact, Ricci flat). The generalized mean curvature vector on any Lagrangian submanifold is related to the Lagrangian angle defined by the phase of a parallel (n, 0) form, just like the Calabi-Yau case. We also show that the corresponding Lagrangian mean curvature flow in cotangent bundles preserves the exactness and the zero Maslov class conditions. At the end, we prove a long time existence and convergence result to demonstrate the stability of the zero section of the cotangent bundle of spheres.

This paper deals with a free boundary porblem connected with the concept “quadrature surface”. Let Ω⊂$R$^{$n$}be a bounded domain with a$C$^{2}boundary and μ a measure compactly supported in Ω. Then we say ∂Ω is a quadrature surface with respect to μ if the following overdetermined Cauchy problem has a solution. $$\Delta u = - \mu in \Omega ,u = 0 and \frac{{\partial u}}{{\partial v}} = - 1 on \partial \Omega .$$

In this paper we propose a time-domain finite element method for modeling of electromagnetic cloaks. The permittivity and permeability of the cloak model are described by the Drude dispersion model. The model to be solved is quite challenging in that we have to solve a coupled problem with different partial differential equations given in different regions. Our method is based on a mixed finite element method using edge elements with different types of meshes in different regions. Numerical results demonstrate that our algorithm is quite effective for simulating cloaks in time-domain. To our knowledge, this is the first cloak simulation carried out by the time-domain finite element method.
