We prove that torsion-free G2 structures are (weakly) dynamically stable along the Laplacian flow for closed G2 structures. More precisely, given a torsion-free G2 structure φ on a compact 7-manifold, the Laplacian flow with initial value cohomologous and sufficiently close to φ will converge to a torsion-free G2 structure which is in the orbit of φ under diffeomorphisms isotopic to the identity. We deduce, from fundamental work of Joyce [18], that the Laplacian flow starting at any closed G2 structure with sufficiently small torsion will exist for all time and converge to a torsion-free G2 structure.

In this paper, we develop an approach to the study of compact K~ hler manifolds which admit mappings of everywhere maximal rank into quotients of polydiscs, eg into Riemann surfaces or products of them. One main tool will be a detailed study of the harmonic maps in the corresponding homotopy classes (for definition and general properties of harmonic maps between Riemannian manifolds see [3]). Starting with a result of Siu, we prove in Sect. 2 that the local level sets of the components of these mappings are analytic subvarieties of the domain. This, together with a generalization of the similarity principle of Bers and Vekua which is proved in the appendix and a residue argument, enables us to give conditions involving the Chern and K~ ihler classes of the considered manifolds, under which this harmonic map is of maximal rank everywhere and, in case domain and image have the same dimension, in

We prove that a stable minimal hypersurface of an open ball which is immersed away from a closed (singular) set of finite codimension 2 Hausdorff measure and weakly close to a multiplicity 2 hyperplane must in the interior be the graph over the hyperplane of a 2-valued function satisfying a local C1, estimate. This regularity is optimal under our hypotheses. As a consequence, we also establish compactness of the class of stable minimal hypersur- faces of an open ball which have volume density ratios uniformly bounded by 3−δ for any fixed δ ∈ (0, 1) and interior singular sets of vanishing co-dimension 2 Hausdorff measure.
