We present a 3D topological picture-language for quantum information. Our approach combines charged excitations carried by strings, with topological properties that arise from embedding the strings in the interior of a 3D manifold with boundary. A quon is a composite that acts as a particle. Specifically, a quon is a hemisphere containing a neutral pair of open strings with opposite charge. We interpret multiquons and their transformations in a natural way. We obtain a type of relation, a string–genus “joint relation,” involving both a string and the 3D manifold. We use the joint relation to obtain a topological interpretation of the C* Hopf algebra relations, which are widely used in tensor networks. We obtain a 3D representation of the controlled NOT (CNOT) gate that is considerably simpler than earlier work, and a 3D topological protocol for teleportation.

We exam the validity of the definition of the ADM angular momentum without the parity assumption. Explicit examples of asymptotically flat hypersurfaces in the Minkowski spacetime with zero ADM energy-momentum vector and finite non-zero angular momentum vector are presented. We also discuss the Beig-\'O Murchadha-Regge-Teitelboim center of mass and study analogous examples in the Schwarzschild spacetime

We construct balanced metrics on the family of non-K¨ahler Calabi-Yau threefolds that are obtained by smoothing after contracting (−1,−1)-rational curves on a K¨ahler Calabi-Yau threefold. As an application, we construct balanced metrics on complex manifolds diffeomorphic to the connected sum of k  2 copies of S3 × S3.

The holonomy of the ambient metrics of Nurowski’s conformal structures associated to generic real-analytic 2-plane fields on oriented 5-manifolds is investigated. It is shown that the holonomy is always contained in the split real form G2 of the exceptional Lie group, and is equal to G2 for an open dense set of 2-plane fields given by explicit conditions. In particular, this gives an infinitedimensional family of metrics of holonomy equal to split G2. These results generalize work of Leistner-Nurowski. The inclusion of the holonomy in G2 is established by proving an ambient extension theorem for parallel tractors in the context of conformal geometry in general signature and dimension, which is expected to be of independent interest.

Consider the indicator function$f$of a 2-dimensional percolation crossing event. In this paper, the Fourier transform of$f$is studied and sharp bounds are obtained for its lower tail in several situations. Various applications of these bounds are derived. In particular, we show that the set of exceptional times of dynamical critical site percolation on the triangular grid in which the origin percolates has dimension ${\frac{31}{36}}$ almost surely, and the corresponding dimension in the half-plane is ${\frac{5}{9}}$ . It is also proved that critical bond percolation on the square grid has exceptional times almost surely. Also, the asymptotics of the number of sites that need to be resampled in order to significantly perturb the global percolation configuration in a large square is determined.
