We obtain an estimate for the norm of the second fundamental form of stable H-surfaces in Riemannian 3-manifolds with bounded sectional curvature. Our estimate depends on the distance to the boundary of the surface and on the bound on the sectional curvature but not on the manifold itself. We give some applications, in particular we obtain an interior gradient estimate for H-sections in Killing submersions.

In this article, we study local holomorphic isometric embeddings from Bn into BN1 × · · · × BNm with respect to the normalized Bergman metrics up to conformal factors. Assume that each conformal factor is smooth Nash algebraic. Then each component of the map is a multi-valued holomorphic map between complex Euclidean spaces by the algebraic extension theorem derived along the lines of Mok, and Mok and Ng. Applying holomorphic continuation and analyzing real analytic subvarieties carefully, we show that each component is either a constant map or a proper holomorphic map between balls. Applying a linearity criterion of Huang, we conclude the total geodesy of non-constant components.

Making use of the extended flux homomorphism defined in [13] on the group Symp§g of symplectomorphisms of a closed ori- ented surface §g of genus g ≥ 2, we introduce new characteristic classes of foliated surface bundles with symplectic, equivalently area-preserving, total holonomy. These characteristic classes are stable with respect to g and we show that they are highly non- trivial. We also prove that the second homology of the group Ham§g of Hamiltonian symplectomorphisms of §g, equipped with the discrete topology, is very large for all g ≥ 2.

In \cite{rigidity}, Luo introduced a $\psi_{\lambda}$ edge invariant which turns out to be a coordinate of the Teichm\"uller space of a surface with boundary. And he proved that for $\lambda \geq 0$, the image of the Teichm\"uller space under $\psi_{\lambda}$ edge invariant coordinate is an open cell. In this paper we verify his conjecture that for $\lambda<0$, the image of the Teichm\"uller space is a bounded convex polytope.
