Motivated by results on the simplicial volume of locally symmetric spaces of finite volume, in this note, we observe that the simplicial volume of the moduli space Mg,n is equal to 0 if g  2; g = 1, n  3; or g = 0, n  6; and the orbifold simplicial volume of Mg,n is positive if g = 1, n = 0, 1; g = 0, n = 4. We also observe that the simplicial volume of the Deligne-Mumford compactification of Mg,n is equal to 0, and the simplicial volumes of the reductive Borel-Serre compactification of arithmetic locally symmetric spaces ..\X and the Baily-Borel compactification of Hermitian arithmetic locally symmetric spaces ..\X are also equal to 0 if the Q-rank of ..\X is at least 3 or if ..\X is irreducible and of Q-rank 2.

In this article, we study the Hamiltonian non-displaceability of Gauss images of isopara- metric hypersurfaces in the spheres as Lagrangian submanifolds embedded in complex hyperquadrics.

We consider minimal surfaces M which are complete, embedded, and have finite total curvature in R3, and bounded, entire solutions with finite Morse index of the Allen-Cahn equation
u+ f(u) = 0 in R3. Here f = −W0 with W bi-stable and balanced, for instance W(u) = 1 4 (1 − u2)2. We assume that M has m  2 ends, and additionally that M is non-degenerate, in the sense that its bounded Jacobi fields are all originated from rigid motions (this is known for instance for a Catenoid and for the Costa-Hoffman- Meeks surface of any genus). We prove that for any small  > 0, the Allen-Cahn equation has a family of bounded solutions depending on m − 1 parameters distinct from rigid motions, whose level sets are embedded surfaces lying close to the blown-up surface M := −1M, with ends possibly diverging logarithmically from M. We prove that these solutions are L1-non-degenerate up to rigid motions, and find that their Morse index coincides with the index of the minimal surface. Our construction suggests parallels of De Giorgi conjecture for general bounded solutions of finite Morse index.

We prove some half-space theorems for minimal surfaces in the Heisenberg group Nil3 and the Lie group Sol3 endowed with their standard left-invariant Riemannian metrics. If S is a properly immersed minimal surface in Nil3 that lies on one side of some entire minimal graph G, then S is the image of G by a vertical translation. If S is a properly immersed minimal surface in Sol3 that lies on one side of a special plane Et (see the discussion just before Theorem 1.5 for the definition of a special plane in Sol3), then S is the special plane Eu for some u 2 R.

In this paper, we shall discuss the existence, uniqueness and regularity of harmonic maps from an Alexandrov space into a geodesic space with curvature 􏰢 1 in the sense of Alexandrov.
