In the moduli space $$ \mathcal{M} $$ _{$g$}of genus-$g$Riemann surfaces, consider the locus $$ \mathcal{R}{\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{O}}} $$ of Riemann surfaces whose Jacobians have real multiplication by the order $$ \mathcal{O} $$ in a totally real number field$F$of degree$g$. If$g$= 3, we compute the closure of $$ \mathcal{R}{\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{O}}} $$ in the Deligne–Mumford compactification of $$ \mathcal{M} $$ _{$g$}and the closure of the locus of eigenforms over $$ \mathcal{R}{\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{O}}} $$ in the Deligne–Mumford compactification of the moduli space of holomorphic 1-forms. For higher genera, we give strong necessary conditions for a stable curve to be in the boundary of $$ \mathcal{R}{\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{O}}} $$ . Boundary strata of $$ \mathcal{R}{\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{O}}} $$ are parameterized by configurations of elements of the field$F$satisfying a strong geometry of numbers type restriction.

This paper gives a new way of constructing Landau-Ginzburg mirrors using deformation theory of Lagrangian immersions motivated by the works of Seidel, Strominger-Yau-Zaslow and Fukaya-Oh-Ohta-Ono. Moreover we construct a canonical functor from the Fukaya category to the mirror category of matrix factorizations. This functor derives homological mirror symmetry under some explicit assumptions. As an application, the construction is applied to spheres with three orbifold points to produce their quantum-corrected mirrors and derive homological mirror symmetry. Furthermore we discover an enumerative meaning of the (inverse) mirror map for elliptic curve quotients.

Recently Freed and Hopkins [11] proved that there is no parity anomaly in M-theory on pin+ manifolds in the low-energy field theory approximation, and they also developed an algebraic theory of cubic forms. Earlier Witten [33] proved the anomaly cancellation for spin manifolds by introducing the E8-bundle technique. Motivated by the cubic forms and the anomaly cancellation formulas of Witten-Freed-Hopkins, we give some new cubic forms on spin, spinc, spinω2 and orientable 12- manifolds respectively. We relate them to η-invariants when the manifolds are with boundary, and mod 2 indices on 10 dimensional characteristic submanifolds when the manifolds are spinc or spinω2 . Our method of producing these cubic forms is a combination of (generalized) Witten classes and the character of the basic representation of affine E8.

We derive generalizations of McShane’s identity for higher ranked surface group representations by studying a family of mapping class group invariant functions introduced by Goncharov and Shen which generalize the notion of horocycle lengths. In particular, we obtain McShane-type identities for finite-area cusped convex real projective surfaces by generalizing the Birman–Series geodesic scarcity theorem. More generally, we establish McShane-type identities for positive surface group representations with loxodromic boundary monodromy, as well as McShane-type inequalities for general rank positive representations with unipotent boundary monodromy. Our identities are systematically expressed in terms of projective invariants, and we study these invariants: we establish boundedness and Fuchsian rigidity results for triple and cross ratios. We apply our identities to derive the simple spectral discreteness of unipotent-bordered positive representations, collar lemmas, and generalizations of the Thurston metric.

We prove the diagonal upper bound of heat kernels for regular Dirichlet forms on metric measure spaces with volume doubling condition. As hypotheses, we use the Faber-Krahn inequality, the generalized capacity condition and an upper bound for the integrated tail of the jump kernel. The proof goes though a parabolic mean value inequality for subcaloric functions.
