We give a survey on Mœglin's construction of representations in the Arthur packets for p-adic quasisplit symplectic and orthogonal groups. The emphasis is on comparing Mœglin's parametrization of elements in the Arthur packets with that of Arthur.

We prove that there exists uncountably many pairwise disjoint open subsets of the Gelfand space of the measure algebra on any locally compact non-discrete abelian group which shows that this space is not separable (in fact, we prove this assertion for the ideal $M_{0}(G)$ consisting of measures with Fourier-Stieltjes transforms vanishing at infinity which is a stronger statement). As a corollary, we obtain that the spectras of elements in the algebra of measures cannot be recovered from the image of one countable subset of the Gelfand space under Gelfand transform, common for all elements in the algebra.

We give bounds for various homological invariants (including Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity, degrees of local cohomology, and injective dimension) of finitely generated VI-modules in the non-describing characteristic case. It turns out that the formulas of these bounds for VI-modules are the same as the formulas of corresponding bounds for FI-modules.

Let F be a non-Archimedean local field. This paper studies homological properties of irreducible smooth representations restricted from GLn+1(F) to GLn(F). A main result shows that each Bernstein component of an irreducible smooth representation of GLn+1(F) restricted to GLn(F) is indecomposable. We also classify all irreducible representations which are projective when restricting from GLn+1(F) to GLn(F). A main tool of our study is a notion of left and right derivatives, extending some previous work joint with Gordan Savin. As a by-product, we also determine the branching law in the opposite direction.

We give a complete classification of (co)torsion pairs in finite $2$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories with maximal rigid objects which are not cluster tilting. These finite $2$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories are divided into two main classes: one denoted by $\A_{n,t}$ called of type $A$, and the other denoted by $D_{n,t}$ called of type $D$. By using the geometric model of cluster categories of type $A, $ or type $D$, we give a geometric description of (co)torsion pairs in $\A_{n,t}$ or $D_{n,t}$ respectively, via defining the periodic Ptolemy diagrams. This allows to count the number of (co)torsion pairs in these categories. Finally, we determine the hearts of (co)torsion pairs in all finite $2$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories with maximal rigid objects which are not cluster tilting via quivers and relations.
