The purpose of the present paper is the solution of the boundary value problems for minimal surfaces when the boundaries are not, or not entirely-fixed Jordan curves but are free to move on prescribed manifolds. At the same time I shall present modifications and simplifications of my previous solution of the Plateau' and Douglas' problem for fixed boundary curves and prescribed topological structure and incidentally discuss certain features of the problem in order to clarify its relation to the theory of conformal mapping. Though based on previous publications, the paper may, except for some references, be read independently.

For any interpolation pair ($A$_{0}$A$_{1}), Peetre’s$K$-functional is defined by: $$K\left( {t,a;A_0 ,A_1 } \right) = \mathop {\inf }\limits_{a = a_0 + a_1 } \left( {\left\| {a_0 } \right\|_{A_0 } + t\left\| {a_1 } \right\|_{A_1 } } \right).$$

In this paper, we present a practical and provably secure two-pass authenticated key exchange protocol over ideal lattices, which is conceptually simple and has similarities to the Diffie-Hellman based protocols such as HMQV (CRYPTO 2005) and OAKE (CCS 2013). Our method does not involve other cryptographic primitives—in particular, it does not use signatures—which simplifies the protocol and enables us to base the security directly on the hardness of the ring learning with errors problem. The security is proven in the Bellare-Rogaway model with weak perfect forward secrecy in the random oracle model. We also give a one-pass variant of our two-pass protocol, which might be appealing in specific applications. Several concrete choices of parameters are provided, and a proof-of-concept implementation shows that our protocols are indeed practical.

We extend recent results by Pisier on$K$-subcouples, i.e. subcouples of an interpolation couple that preserve the$K$-functional (up to constants) and corresponding notions for quotient couples. Examples include interpolation (in the pointwise sense) and a reinterpretation of the Adamyan-Arov-Krein theorem for Hankel operators.
