We study the spectral properties of Dirichlet Laplacian on the conical layer of the opening angle 2 and thickness equal to . We demonstrate that below the continuum threshold, which is equal to 1, there is an infinite sequence of isolated eigenvalues and analyse properties of these geometrically induced bound states. By numerical computation we find examples of the eigenfunctions.

We study asymptotical behaviour of resonances for a quantum graph consisting of a finite internal part and external leads placed into a magnetic field, in particular, the question whether their number follows the Weyl law. We prove that the presence of a magnetic field cannot change a non-Weyl asymptotics into a Weyl one and vice versa. On the other hand, we present examples demonstrating that for some non-Weyl graphs the effective size of the graph, and therefore the resonance asymptotics, can be affected by the magnetic field.

The goal of this paper is to derive estimates of eigenvalue moments for Dirichlet Laplacians and Schrdinger operators in regions having infinite cusps which are geometrically nontrivial being either curved or twisted; we are going to show how those geometric properties enter the eigenvalue bounds. The obtained inequalities reflect the essentially one-dimensional character of the cusps and we give an example showing that in an intermediate energy region they can be much stronger than the usual semiclassical bounds.

The effect of spin-involved interaction on the transport properties of disordered two-dimensional electron systems with ferromagnetic contacts is described using a two-component model. Components representing spin-up and spin-down states are supposed to be coupled at a discrete set of points. We have found that due to the additional interference arising in two-component systems the difference between conductances for the parallel and antiparallel orientations of the contact magnetization changes its sign as a function of the length of the conducting channel.

In this paper, we prove that the degree of regularity of the family of Square systems, an HFE type of systems, over a prime finite field of odd characteristics q is exactly q, and therefore prove that \begin{itemize} \item inverting Square systems algebraically is exponential, when q=O(n), where n is the number of variables of the system. \end{itemize}

In this paper we present a new variant of the Zhuang-Zi algorithm, which solves multivariate polynomial equations over a finite field by converting it into a single variable problem over a large extension field. The improvement is based on the newly developed concept of mutant in solving multivariate equations.

We study spectral properties of a spinless quantum particle confined to an infinite planar layer with hard walls, which interacts with a periodic lattice of point perturbations and a homogeneous magnetic field perpendicular to the layer. It is supposed that the lattice cell contains a finite number of impurities and the flux through the cell is rational. Using the Landau-Zak transformation, we convert the problem into investigation of the corresponding fiber operators which is performed by means of Krein's formula. This yields an explicit description of the spectral bands, which may be absolutely continuous or degenerate, depending on the parameters of the model.

We investigate approximations of the vertex coupling on a star-shaped graph by families of operators with singularly scaled rank-one interactions. We find a family of vertex couplings, generalizing the <i></i>-interaction on the line, and show that with a suitable choice of the parameters they can be approximated in this way in the norm-resolvent sense. We also analyze spectral properties of the involved operators and demonstrate the convergence of the corresponding on-shell scattering matrices.

This paper introduces a new central trapdoor for multivariate quadratic (MQ) public-key cryptosystems that allows for encryption, in contrast to time-tested MQ primitives such as Unbalanced Oil and Vinegar or Hidden Field Equations which only allow for signatures. Our construction is a mixed-field scheme that exploits the commutativity of the extension field to dramatically reduce the complexity of the extension field polynomial implicitly present in the public key. However, this reduction can only be performed by the user who knows concise descriptions of two simple polynomials, which constitute the private key. After applying this transformation, the plaintext can be recovered by solving a linear system. We use the minus and projection modifiers to inoculate our scheme against known attacks. A straightforward C++ implementation confirms the efficient operation of the public key algorithms.

We show that there is a family Schrdinger operators with scaled potentials which approximates the '-interaction Hamiltonian in the norm-resolvent sense. This approximation, based on a formal scheme proposed by Cheon and Shigehara, has nontrivial convergence properties which are in several respects opposite to those of the Klauder phenomenon.

We analyze bound states of Robin Laplacian in infinite planar domains with a smooth boundary, in particular, their relations to the geometry of the latter. The domains considered have locally straight boundary being, for instance, locally deformed halfplanes or wedges, or infinite strips, alternatively they are the exterior of a bounded obstacle. In the situation when the Robin condition is strongly attractive, we derive a two-term asymptotic formula in which the next-to-leading term is determined by the extremum of the boundary curvature. We also discuss the non-asymptotic case of attractive boundary interaction and show that the discrete spectrum is nonempty if the domain is a local deformation of a halfplane or a wedge of angle less than , and it is void if the domain is concave.

We consider a class of Hamiltonians in L2(R2) with attractive interaction supported by piecewise C2 smooth loops of a fixed length L, formally given by (x) with &gt;0. It is shown that the ground state of this operator is locally maximized by a circular . We also conjecture that this property holds globally and show that the problem is related to an interesting family of geometric inequalities concerning mean values of chords of .

To describe quantum oscillations on metallic rings and similar effects, some authors introduced recently an ideal device which splits the electron wavefunction at the junction of three wires. A proper quantum-mechanical treatment requires, however, that the splitting procedure is described by a hamiltonian. In this Letter we show how this can be achieved in the framework of the self-adjoint-extension theory.

Remarkable achievements have been attained by deep neural networks in various applications. However, the increasing depth and width of such models also lead to explosive growth in both storage and computation, which has restricted the deployment of deep neural networks on resource-limited edge devices. To address this problem, we propose the so-called SCAN framework for networks training and inference, which is orthogonal and complementary to existing acceleration and compression methods. The proposed SCAN firstly divides neural networks into multiple sections according to their depth and constructs shallow classifiers upon the intermediate features of different sections. Moreover, attention modules and knowledge distillation are utilized to enhance the accuracy of shallow classifiers. Based on this architecture, we further propose a threshold controlled scalable inference mechanism to approach human-like sample-specific inference. Experimental results show that SCAN can be easily equipped on various neural networks without any adjustment on hyper-parameters or neural networks architectures, yielding significant performance gain on CIFAR100 and ImageNet. We study a free quantum motion on periodically structured manifolds composed of elementary two-dimensional'cells' connected either by linear segments or through points where the two cells touch. The general theory is illustrated with numerous examples in which the elementary components are spherical surfaces arranged into chains in a straight or zigzag way, or two-dimensional square lattice'carpets'. We show that the spectra of such systems have an infinite number of gaps and that the latter dominate the spectrum at high energies.

We consider rectangular graph superlattices of sides l 1, l 2 with the wave-function coupling at the junctions either of the type, when they are continuous and the sum of their derivatives is proportional to the common value at the junction with a coupling constant , or the s type with the roles of functions and derivatives reversed; the latter corresponds to the situations where the junctions are realized by complicated geometric scatterers. We show that the band spectra have a hidden fractal structure with respect to the ratio := l 1/l 2. If the latter is an irrational badly approximable by rationals, lattices have no gaps in the weak-coupling case. We show that there is a quantization for the asymptotic critical values of at which new gap series open, and explain it in terms of number-theoretic properties of .
