We compute local Gromov–Witten invariants of cubic surfaces at all genera. We use a deformation a of cubic surface to a nef toric surface and the deformation invariance of Gromov–Witten invariants.

We compute the open Gromov-Witten invariants for every compact semi-Fano toric surface, i.e. a toric surface X with nef anticanonical bundle. Unlike the Fano case, this involves non-trivial obstructions in the corresponding moduli problem. As an application, an explicit expression of the superpotential W for the mirror of X is obtained, which in turn gives an explicit ring presentation of the small quantum cohomology of X. We also give a computational verification of the natural ring isomorphism between the small quantum cohomology of X and the Jacobian ring of W.

In this paper, we develop and analyze the Runge-Kutta discontinuous Galerkin (RKDG) method to solve weakly coupled hyperbolic multi-domain problems. Such problems involve transfer type boundary conditions with discontinuous fluxes between different domains, calling for special techniques to prove stability of the RKDG methods. We prove both stability and error estimates for our RKDG methods on simple models, and then apply them to a biological cell proliferation model \cite{EMSC}. Numerical results are provided to illustrate the good behavior of our RKDG methods.

Let (W, I) be a finite Coxeter group. In the case where W is a Weyl group, Berenstein and Kazhdan in [A. Berenstein, D. Kazhdan, Geometric and unipotent crystals. II. From unipotent bicrystals to crystal bases, in: Quantum Groups, in: Contemp. Math., vol. 433, Amer. Math. Soc., Providence, RI, 2007, pp. 1388] constructed a monoid structure on the set of all subsets of I using unipotent -linear bicrystals. In this paper, we will generalize this result to all types of finite Coxeter groups (including non-crystallographic types). Our approach is more elementary, based on some combinatorics of Coxeter groups. Moreover, we will calculate this monoid structure explicitly for each type.
