We give an explicit formula for the logarithmic potential of the asymptotic zero-counting measure of the sequence {(dn/dzn)(R(z)expT(z))}∞n=1. Here, R(z) is a rational function with at least two poles, all of which are distinct, and T(z) is a polynomial. This is an extension of a recent measure-theoretic refinement of Pólya’s Shire theorem for rational functions.

We study the asymptotic of the Bergman kernel of the spinc Dirac operator on high tensor powers of a line bundle.

This paper presents a least-squares finite element method for linear Phan-Thien–Tanner(PTT) viscoelastic fluid flows. We consider stabilized weights in the LS method for the viscoelastic model and prove that the LS approximation converges to the linearized solutions of the linear PTT model; the convergence is at the optimal rate for the velocity in the H1-norm and at suboptimal rates for the stress and pressure in the L2-norm, respectively. For numerical experiments, we first consider the flow through a planar channel to illustrate our theoretical results. The LS method is then applied to a flow through the slot channel with two depth ratios and the effects of physical parameters are discussed. Numerical solutions of the channel problem indicate that flow characteristics of the viscoelastic polymer solution are described by the results obtained using the method. Furthermore, we present the hole pressure for various Weissenberg numbers, and compare with that derived from the Higashitani–Pritchard (HP) theory.

In the past decade, tremendous efforts have been made towards understanding fermionic symmetry protected topological (FSPT) phases in interacting systems. Nevertheless, for systems with continuum symmetry, e.g., electronic insulators, it is still unclear how to construct an exactly solvable model with a finite dimensional Hilbert space in general. In this paper, we give a lattice model construction and classification for 2D interacting electronic insulators. Based on the physical picture of U(1)_f-charge decorations, we illustrate the key idea by considering the well known 2D interacting topological insulator. Then we generalize our construction to an arbitrary 2D interacting electronic insulator with symmetry Gf=U(1)_f ⋊_{ρ_1,ω_2} G, where U(1)_f is the charge conservation symmetry and ρ_1,ω_2 are additional data which fully characterize the group structure of G_f. Finally we study more examples, including the full interacting classification of 2D crystalline topological insulators.
