Let be a locally compact Hausdorff space. We show that any local -linear map (where" local" is a weaker notion than -linearity) between Banach -modules are" nearly -linear" and" nearly bounded". As an application, a local -linear map between Hilbert -modules is automatically -linear. If, in addition, contains no isolated point, then any -linear map between Hilbert -modules is automatically bounded. Another application is that if a sequence of maps between two Banach spaces" preserve -sequences"(or" preserve ultra- -sequences"), then is bounded for large enough and they have a common bound. Moreover, we will show that if is a bijective" biseparating" linear map from a" full" essential Banach -module into a" full" Hilbert -module (where is another locally compact Hausdorff space), then is" nearly bounded"(in fact, it is automatically bounded if or contains no isolated point) and there exists a homeomorphism such that ( ).

We study the stability and oscillation of traveling fronts in a three-component, advection-reaction biodegradation model. The three components are pollutant, nutrient, and bacteria concentrations. Under an explicit condition on the biomass growth and decay coefficients, we derive reduced, two-component, semilinear hyperbolic models through a relaxation procedure, during which biomass is slaved to pollutant and nutrient concentration variables. The reduced two-component models resemble the Broadwell model of the discrete velocity gas. The traveling fronts of the reduced system are explicit and are expressed in terms of hyperbolic tangent function in the nutrient-deficient regime. We perform energy estimates to prove the asymptotic stability of these fronts under explicit conditions on the coefficients in the system. Dunfield-Garoufalidis and Boyer-Zhang proved that the A-polynomial of a nontrivial knot in S3 is nontrivial. In this paper, we use holonomy perturbations to prove the non-triviality of the A-polynomial for a nontrivial, null-homotopic knot in an irreducible 3-manifold. Also, we give a strong constraint on the A-polynomial of a knot in the 3-sphere.

We classify the Ext-quivers of hearts in the bounded derived category D(A_n) and the finite-dimensional derived category D(\Gamma_N A_n) of the Calabi-Yau-N Ginzburg algebra D(\Gamma_N A_n). This provides the classification for Buan-Thomas' colored quiver for higher clusters of A-type. We also give explicit combinatorial constructions from a binary tree with n+2 leaves to a torsion pair in mod k\overrightarrow{A_n} and a cluster tilting set in the corresponding cluster category, for the straight oriented A-type quiver \overrightarrow{A_n}. As an application, we show that the orientation of the n-dimensional ssociahedron induced by poset structure of binary trees coincides with the orientation induced by poset structure of torsion pairs in mod k\overrightarrow{A_n} (under the correspondence above).
