Let be a locally compact Hausdorff space. We show that any local -linear map (where" local" is a weaker notion than -linearity) between Banach -modules are" nearly -linear" and" nearly bounded". As an application, a local -linear map between Hilbert -modules is automatically -linear. If, in addition, contains no isolated point, then any -linear map between Hilbert -modules is automatically bounded. Another application is that if a sequence of maps between two Banach spaces" preserve -sequences"(or" preserve ultra- -sequences"), then is bounded for large enough and they have a common bound. Moreover, we will show that if is a bijective" biseparating" linear map from a" full" essential Banach -module into a" full" Hilbert -module (where is another locally compact Hausdorff space), then is" nearly bounded"(in fact, it is automatically bounded if or contains no isolated point) and there exists a homeomorphism such that ( ).

We study a system of semilinear hyperbolic equations passively advected by smooth white noise in time random velocity fields. Such a system arises in modelling non-premixed isothermal turbulent flames under single-step kinetics of fuel and oxidizer. We derive closed equations for one-point and multi-point probability distribution functions (PDFs) and closed-form analytical formulae for the one-point PDF function, as well as the two-point PDF function under homogeneity and isotropy. Exact solution formulae allow us to analyse the ensemble-averaged fuel/oxidizer concentrations and the motion of their level curves. We recover the empirical formulae of combustion in the thin reaction zone limit and show that these approximate formulae can either underestimate or overestimate average concentrations when the reaction zone is not tending to zero. Greedy forwarding with geographical locations in a wireless sensor network may fail at a local minimum. In this paper we propose to use conformal mapping to compute a new embedding of the sensor nodes in the plane such that greedy forwarding with the virtual coordinates guarantees delivery. In particular, we extract a planar triangulation of the sensor network with non-triangular faces as holes, by either using the nodes' location or using a landmark-based scheme without node location. The conformal map is computed with Ricci flow such that all the non-triangular faces are mapped to perfect circles. Thus greedy forwarding will never get stuck at an intermediate node. The computation of the conformal map and the virtual coordinates is performed at a preprocessing phase and can be implemented by local gossip-style computation.
