With the advance in virtual reality applications, garment industry has strived for new developments. This paper reviews state-of-the-art CAD methods in 3D garment design. A large range of techniques are selected and organized into several key modules which form the core of a 3D garment design technology platform. In each module, basic techniques are presented first. Then advanced developments are systematically discussed and commented. The selected key modules – digital human modeling, 3D garment design and modification, numerical integration of draping, 2D pattern generation, geometric details modeling, parallel computation and GPU acceleration – are discussed in turn. Major challenges and solutions that have been addressed over the years are discussed. Finally, some of the ensuing challenges in 3D garment CAD technologies are outlined.

Hence the energy defines a functional on the space of Lipshitz maps between M and M'. Critical points of this functional are called harmonic maps. These maps were studied by Bochner, Morrey, Rauch, Eells and Sampson, Hartman, Uhlenbeck, Hamilton, Hildebrandt and others. The first fundamental result was due to Eells and Sampson [3] who proved that, in case M'has non-positive sectional curvature, each map from M to M'is homotopic to a harmonic map.(This result was then extended by Hamilton [8] to the case where both M and M'are allowed to have boundary.) Later Hartman [7] was able to prove the harmonic map is unique in each homotopy class if M'has strictly negative curvature. This last result of Hartman leads one to believe that harmonic maps between compact manifolds with negative curvature must enjoy a lot of nice properties. In fact, a few years ago, B. For a Lagrangian scheme solving the compressible Euler equations in cylindrical coordinates, two important issues are whether the scheme can maintain spherical symmetry (symmetry-preserving) and whether the scheme can maintain positivity of density and internal energy (positivity-preserving). While there were previous results in the literature either for symmetry-preserving in the cylindrical coordinates or for positivity-preserving in cartesian coordinates, the design of a Lagrangian scheme in cylindrical coordinates, which is high order in one-dimension and second order in two-dimensions, and can maintain both spherical symmetry-preservation and positivity-preservation simultaneously, is challenging. In this paper we design such a Lagrangian scheme and provide numerical results to demonstrate its good behavior.

In this paper, we prove that if a compact Kähler manifold X has a smooth Hermitian metric ω such that (T_X,ω) is uniformly RC-positive, then X is projective and rationally connected. Conversely, we show that, if a projective manifold X is rationally connected, then there exists a uniformly RC-positive complex Finsler metric on T_X .

Because of its importance in number theory and singularity theory, the problem of nding a polynomial sharp upper estimate of the number of positive integral points in an n- dimensional (n  3) polyhedron has received attention by a lot of mathematicians. S. S.-T. Yau proposed the upper estimate, so-called the Yau Number Theoretic Conjecture. The previous results on the Yau Number Theoretic Conjecture in low dimension cases (n  6) have been proved by using the sharp GLY conjecture. Unfortunately, it is only valid in low dimension. The Yau Number Theoretic Conjecture for n = 7 has been shown with a completely new method in [19]. In this paper, the similar method has been applied to prove the Yau Number Theoretic Conjecture for n = 8, but with more meticulous analyses. The main method of proof is summing existing sharp upper bounds for the number of points in 7-dimensional simplexes over the cross sections of eight-dimensional simplex. This reasearch project paves the way for the proof of a fully general sharp upper bound for the number of lattice points in a simplex. It also moves the mathematical community one step closer towards proving the Yau Number Theoretic Conjecture in full generality. As an application, we give a sharper estimate of the Dickman-De Bruijn function (x; y) for 5  y < 23, compared with the result obtained by Ennola.
