This paper presents a marching method for computing intersection curves between two solids represented by subdivision surfaces of Catmull-Clark or Loop type. It can be used in trimming and boolean operations for subdivision surfaces. The main idea is to apply a marching method with geometric interpretation to trace the intersection curves. We first determine all intersecting regions, then find pairs of initial intersection points, and trace the intersection curves from the initial intersection points. Various examples are given to demonstrate the robustness and efficiency of our algorithm.

By studying the heat semigroup, we prove Li-Yau type estimates for bounded and positive solutions of the heat equation on graphs, under the assumption of the curvature-dimension inequality $CDE'(n,0)$, which can be consider as a notion of curvature for graphs. Furthermore, we derive that if a graph has non-negative curvature then it has the volume doubling property, from this we can prove the Gaussian estimate for heat kernel, and then Poincar\'{e} inequality and Harnack inequality. As a consequence, we obtain that the dimension of space of harmonic functions on graphs with polynomial growth is finite, which original is a conjecture of Yau on Riemannian manifold proved by Colding and Minicozzi. Under the assumption of positive curvature on graphs, we derive the Bonnet-Myers type theorem that the diameter of graphs is finite and bounded above in terms of the positive curvature by proving some Log Sobolev inequalities.

In this paper, we classify unweighted graphs satisfying the curvature dimension condition $\CD (0,\infty)$ whose girth are at least five.

This paper considers the problem of placing mosaic tiles on a surface to produce a surface mosaic. We assume that the user specifies a mesh model, the size of the tiles and the amount of grout, and optionally, a few control vectors at key locations on the surface indicating the preferred tile orientation at these points. From these inputs, we place equal-sized rectangular tiles over the mesh such as to almost cover it, with controlled orientation. The alignment of the tiles follows a vector field which is interpolated over the surface from the control vectors, and also forced into alignment with any sharp creases, open boundaries, and boundaries between regions of different colors. Our method efficiently solves the problem by posing it as one of globally optimizing a spring-like energy in the Manhattan metric, using overlapping local parameterizations.We demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm with various examples.

Presented in this paper is a sweepline algorithm to compute the Voronoi diagram of a set of circles in a two-dimensional Euclidean space. The radii of the circles are non-negative and not necessarily equal. It is allowed that circles intersect each other, and a circle contains others. The proposed algorithm constructs the correct Voronoi diagram as a sweepline moves on the plane from top to bottom. While moving on the plane, the sweepline stops only at certain event points where the topology changes occur for the Voronoi diagram being constructed. The worst-case time complexity of the proposed algorithm is $O((n+m)log n)$, where $n$ is the number of input circles, and $m$ is the number of intersection points among circles. As $m$ can be $O(n^22)$, the presented algorithm is optimal with $O(n^2 log n) $ worst-case time complexity.
