In this paper we obtain sharp LiebThirring inequalities for a Schrdinger operator on semiaxis with a matrix potential and show how they can be used to other related problems. Among them are spectral inequalities on star graphs and spectral inequalities for Schrdinger operators on half-spaces with Robin boundary conditions.

We consider a two-dimensional particle of charge e interacting with a homogeneous magnetic eld perpendicular to the plane and a potential well which is transported along a closed loop in the plane. We show that a bound state corresponding to a simple isolated eigenvalue acquires at that Berry's phase equal to 2 sgne times the number of ux quanta through the oriented area encircled by the loop. We also argue that this is a purely quantum e ect since the corresponding Hannay angle is zero.

Suppose that <i></i>₀ is an unknotted simple closed curve contained in the 3-sphere which happens to be invariant under a subgroup <i>G</i> of the Mbius group of <i>S³</i> = the group (generated by inversions in 2-spheres). It is shown that there is an equivariant isotopy <i></i>_<i>t</i>, 0 <i>t</i> 1, from <i></i>₀ to a round circle <i></i>₁.

The onset of hydrodynamic instabilities is of great importance in both industry and daily life, due to the dramatic mechanical and thermodynamic changes for different types of flow motions. In this paper, modern machine learning techniques, especially the convolutional neural networks (CNN), are applied to identify the transition between different flow motions raised by hydrodynamic instability, as well as critical non-dimensionalized parameters for characterizing this transit. CNN not only correctly predicts the critical transition values for both Taylor-Couette (TC) flow and Rayleigh- Bénard (RB) convection under various setups and conditions, but also shows an outstanding performance on robustness and noise-tolerance. In addition, key spatial features used for classifying different flow patterns are revealed by the principal component analysis.
