We consider a charged spinless quantum particle confined to a graph consisting of a loop to which a halfline lead is attached; this system is placed into a homogeneous magnetic field perpendicular to the loop plane. We derive the reflection amplitude and show that there is an infinite ladder of resonances; analyzing the resonance pole trajectories, we show that half of them turn into true embedded eigenvalues provided the flux through the loop is an integer or half-integer multiple of the flux unit hc/e. We also describe a general method to solve the scattering problem on graphs of which the present model is a simple particular case. Finally, we discuss ways in which a state localized initially at the loop decays.

We examine the effect of errors in covariates in nonparametric function estimation. These functions include densities, regressions and conditional quantiles. To estimate these functions, we use the idea of deconvoluting kernels in conjunction with the ordinary kernel methods. We also discuss a new class of function estimators based on local polynomials.

We study two dimensional N = (2, 2) Landau-Ginzburg models with tensor valued superfields with the aim of constructing large central charge superconformal field theories which are solvable using large N techniques. We demonstrate the viability of such constructions and motivate the study of anisotropic tensor models. Such theories are a novel deformation of tensor models where we break the continuous symmetries while preserving the large N solvability. Specifically, we examine theories with superpotentials involving tensor contractions chosen to pick out melonic diagrams. The anisotropy is introduced by further biasing individual terms by different coefficients, all of the same order, to retain large N scaling. We carry out a detailed analysis of the resulting low energy fixed point and comment on potential applications to holography. Along the way we also examine gauged versions of the models (with partial anisotropy) and find generically that such theories have a non-compact Higgs branch of vacua.

Suppose that we have n observations from the convolution model Y = X+, where X and are the independent unobservable random variables, and is measurement error with a known distribution. We will discuss the asymptotic normality for deconvolving kernel density estimators of the unknown density f_{X}(.) of X by assuming either the tail of the characteristic function of behaves as f_{X}(.) (which is called supersmooth error), or the tail of the characteristic function is of order f_{X}(.) (called ordinary smooth error). Asymptotic normality of estimating the functional f_{X}(.) is also addressed.
