In this paper we prove the Iwasawa main conjecture for the Rankin-Selberg product of a general modular form and a CM form of higher weight. This result has been used by others to prove the converse of the theorem of Gross-Zagier and Kolyvagin, and the BSD formula for elliptic curves of analytic rank one.

In two recent papers by Barry (2010) [29] and (2011) [30], it is conjectured that Somos-4 admits a solution expressed in terms of Hankel determinant with its elements satisfying a convolution recursion relation. In this paper, Barrys conjecture on Somos-4 is firstly confirmed. Actually, we present a more generalized result. The proof is mainly based on new findings on properties for so-called BlockHankel determinants. The method can also be used to prove another conjecture proposed by Michael Somos, which has been solved by Guoce Xin.

In this paper, we will study the (linear) geometric analysis on metric measure spaces. We will establish a local Li-Yau’s estimate for weak solutions of the heat equation and prove a sharp Yau’s gradient gradient for harmonic functions on metric measure spaces, under the Riemannian curvature-dimension condition RCD(K; N).

In this paper, we derive two subgradient estimates of the CR heat equation in a closed pseudohermitian 3-manifold which are served as the CR version of the Li-Yau gradient estimate. With its applications, we first get a subgradient estimate of the logarithm of the positive solution of the CR heat equation. Secondly, we have the Harnack inequality and upper bound estimate for the heat kernel. Finally, we obtain Perelman-type entropy formulae for the CR heat equation.

InthispaperwedevelopaconservativelocaldiscontinuousGalerkin(LDG) method for the Schro ̈ dinger-Korteweg-de Vries (Sch-KdV) system, which arises in var- ious physical contexts as a model for the interaction of long and short nonlinear waves. Conservative quantities in the discrete version of the number of plasmons, energy of the oscillations and the number of particles are proved for the LDG scheme of the Sch-KdV system. Semi-implicit time discretization is adopted to relax the time step constraint from the high order spatial derivatives. Numerical results for accuracy tests of stationary traveling soliton, and the collision of solitons are shown. Numerical ex- periments illustrate the accuracy and capability of the method.
