In this paper, we consider the initial-boundary value problem of the 3D primitive equations for planetary oceanic and atmospheric dynamics with only horizontal eddy viscosity in the horizontal momentum equations and only horizontal diffusion in the temperature equation. Global well-posedness of strong solution is established for any $H^2$ initial data. An $N$-dimensional logarithmic Sobolev embedding inequality, which bounds the $L^\infty$ norm in terms of the $L^q$ norms up to a logarithm of the $L^p$-norm, for $p>N$, of the first order derivatives, and a system version of the classic Gronwall inequality are exploited to establish the required a priori $H^2$ estimates for the global regularity.

When enough matter is condensed in a small region, gravitational effects will be strong enough to cause collapse and a black hole will be formed. We formulate and prove here such a statement in the language of general relativity. (This is Theorem 2 of this paper.)

In this article, a classification of continuous, linearly intertwining, symmetric $L_p$-Blaschke ($p>1$) valuations is established as an extension of Haberl's work on Blaschke valuations. More precisely, we show that for dimensions $n \geq 3$, the only continuous, linearly intertwining, normalized symmetric $L_p$-Blaschke valuation is the normalized $L_p$-curvature image operator, while for dimension $n = 2 $, a rotated normalized $L_p$-curvature image operator is an only additional one. One of the advantages of our approach is that we deal with normalized symmetric $L_p$-Blaschke valuations, which makes it possible to handle the case $p=n$. The cases where $p \neq =n$ are also discussed by studying the relations between symmetric $L_p$-Blaschke valuations and normalized ones.

In this article, we classify all standard invariants that can arise from a composed inclusion of an A 3 with an A 4 subfactor. More precisely, if N P is an A 3 subfactor and P M is an A 4 subfactor, then only four standard invariants can arise from the composed inclusion N M. We answer a question posed by Bisch and Haagerup in 1994. The techniques of this paper also show that there are exactly four standard invariants for the composed inclusion of two A 4 subfactors.
