We give a solution to the inverse problem (given a prescribed function, find a corresponding group) for large classes of speed, entropy, isoperimetric profile, return probability and Lp-compression functions of finitely generated groups. For smaller classes, we give solutions among solvable groups of exponential volume growth. As corollaries, we prove a recent conjecture of Amir on joint evaluation of speed and entropy exponents and we obtain a new proof of the existence of uncountably many pairwise non-quasi-isometric solvable groups, originally due to Cornulier and Tessera. We also obtain a formula relating the Lp-compression exponent of a group and its wreath product with the cyclic group forp in [1,2].

An axiomatic formulation is presented for point processes which may be interpreted as ordered sequences of points randomly located on the real line. Such concepts as forward recurrence times and number of points in intervals are defined and related in set-theoretic Note that for α∈$A$,$G$^{α}may not cover$G$_{α}as a convex subgroup and so we cannot use Theorem 1.1 to prove this result. Moreover, all that we know about the$G$^{α}/G_{α}is that each is an extension of a trivially ordered subgroup by a subgroup of$R$. It is a classical result of Sobolev spaces that any $H^1$ function has a well-defined $H^{1/2}$ trace on the boundary of a sufficient regular domain. In this work, we present stronger and more general versions of such a trace theorem in a new nonlocal function space $\cS(\Omega)$ satisfying $H^1(\Omega)\subset \cS(\Omega)\subset L^2(\Omega)$. The new space $\cS(\Omega)$ is associated with a nonlocal norm characterized by a nonlocal interaction kernel that is defined heterogeneously with a special localization feature on the boundary. Through the heterogeneous localization, we are able to show that the $H^{1/2}$ norm of the trace on the boundary can be controlled by the nonlocal norm that are weaker than the classical $H^1$ norm. In fact, the trace theorems can be essentially shown without imposing any extra regularity of the function in the interior of the domain other than being square integrable. Implications of the new trace theorems to the coupling of local and nonlocal equations and possible further generalizations are also discussed.

We introduce a novel approach for the polygonization of Multi-view Stereo (MVS) meshes of buildings, which results in compact and topologically valid models. The main characteristic of our method is structure awareness, i.e., the recovery and preservation of the initial mesh primitives and their adjacencies. Our proposed methodology consists of three main stages: (a) primitive detection via mesh segmentation, (b) encoding of primitive adjacencies into a graph, and (c) polygonization. Polygonization is based on the approximation of the original mesh with a candidate set of planar polygonal faces. On this candidate set, we apply a binary labelling formulation to select and assemble an optimal set of faces under hard constraints that ensure that the final model is both manifold and watertight. Experiments on various building models demonstrate that our simplification method can produce simpler representations for both closed and open building meshes. Furthermore, these representations highly conform to the initial structure and are ready to be used for spatial analysis.
