In this paper we give quantitative local test vectors for Waldspurger's period integral (i.e., a toric period on GL_2) in new cases with joint ramifications. The construction involves minimal vectors, rather than newforms and their variants. This paper gives a uniform treatment for the matrix algebra and division algebra cases under mild assumptions, and establishes an explicit relation between the size of the local integral and the finite conductor C(π×π_{χ^{−1}}). As an application, we combine the test vector results with the relative trace formula, and prove a hybrid type subconvexity bound which can be as strong as the Weyl bound in proper range.

Surface parameterizations have been widely applied to digital geometry processing. In this paper, we propose an efficient conformal energy minimization (CEM) algorithm for computing conformal parameterizations of simply-connected open surfaces with a very small angular distortion and a highly improved computational efficiency. In addition, we generalize the proposed CEM algorithm to computing conformal parameterizations of multiply-connected surfaces. Furthermore, we prove the existence of a nontrivial accumulation point of the proposed CEM algorithm under some mild conditions. Several numerical results show the efficiency and robustness of the CEM algorithm comparing to the existing state-of-the-art algorithms. An application of the CEM on the surface morphing between simply-connected open surfaces is demonstrated thereafter. Thanks to the CEM algorithm, the whole computations for the surface morphing can be performed efficiently and robustly.

We prove some half-space theorems for minimal surfaces in the Heisenberg group Nil3 and the Lie group Sol3 endowed with their standard left-invariant Riemannian metrics. If S is a properly immersed minimal surface in Nil3 that lies on one side of some entire minimal graph G, then S is the image of G by a vertical translation. If S is a properly immersed minimal surface in Sol3 that lies on one side of a special plane Et (see the discussion just before Theorem 1.5 for the definition of a special plane in Sol3), then S is the special plane Eu for some u 2 R.

This article is a continuation of our work on the classification of holomorphic framed vertex operator algebras of central charge 24. We show that a holomorphic framed VOA of central charge 24 is uniquely determined by the Lie algebra structure of its weight one subspace. As a consequence, we completely classify all holomorphic framed vertex operator algebras of central charge 24 and show that there exist exactly 56 such vertex operator algebras, up to isomorphism.
