We study cluster categories arising from marked surfaces (with punctures and nonempty boundaries). By constructing skewed-gentle algebras, we show that there is a bijection between tagged curves and string objects. Applications include interpreting dimensions of Ext1 as intersection numbers of tagged curves and Auslander-Reiten translation as tagged rotation. An important consequence is that the cluster(-tilting) exchange graphs of such cluster categories are connected.

We consider the Ising model at its critical temperature with external magnetic field ha15/8 on the square lattice with lattice spacing a. We show that the truncated two-point function in this model decays exponentially with a rate independent of a as a ↓ 0. As a consequence, we show exponential decay in the near-critical scaling limit Euclidean magnetization field. For the lattice model with a = 1, the mass (inverse correlation length) is of order h8/15 as h ↓ 0; for the Euclidean field, it equals exactly Ch8/15 for some C. Although there has been much progress in the study of critical scaling limits, results on near-critical models are far fewer due to the lack of conformal invariance away from the critical point. Our arguments combine lattice and continuum FK representations, including coupled conformal loop and measure ensembles, showing that such ensembles can be useful even in the study of near-critical scaling limits. Thus we provide the first substantial application of measure ensembles.

We study the super-resolution (SR) problem of recovering point sources consisting of a collection of isolated and suitably separated spikes from only the low frequency measurements. If the peak separation is above a factor in $(1, 2)$ of the Rayleigh length (physical resolution limit), L1 minimization is guaranteed to recover such sparse signals. However, below such critical length scale, especially the Rayleigh length, the $L_1$ certificate no longer exists. We show several local properties (local minimum, directional stationarity, and sparsity) of the limit points of minimizing two $L_1$ based nonconvex penalties, the difference of $L_1$ and $L_2$ norms $(L_{1-2})$ and capped $L_1 (CL_1)$, subject to the measurement constraints. In one and two dimensional numerical SR examples,the local optimal solutions from dierence of convex function algorithms outperform the global L1 solutions near or below Rayleigh length scales either in the accuracy of ground truth recovery or in nding a sparse solution satisfying the constraints more accurately.

We present the third in the series of papers describing Poisson properties of planar directed networks in the disk or in the annulus. In this paper we concentrate on special networks$N$_{$u,v$}in the disk that correspond to the choice of a pair ($u, v$) of Coxeter elements in the symmetric group$S$_{$n$}and the corresponding networks $N_{u,v}^\circ$ in the annulus. Boundary measurements for$N$_{$u,v$}represent elements of the Coxeter double Bruhat cell$G$^{$u,v$}⊂GL_{$n$}. The Cartan subgroup$H$acts on$G$^{$u,v$}by conjugation. The standard Poisson structure on the space of weights of$N$_{$u,v$}induces a Poisson structure on$G$^{$u,v$}, and hence on the quotient$G$^{$u,v$}/$H$, which makes the latter into the phase space for an appropriate Coxeter–Toda lattice. The boundary measurement for $N_{u,v}^\circ$ is a rational function that coincides up to a non-zero factor with the Weyl function for the boundary measurement for$N$_{$u,v$}. The corresponding Poisson bracket on the space of weights of $N_{u,v}^\circ$ induces a Poisson bracket on the certain space $ {\mathcal{R}_n} $ of rational functions, which appeared previously in the context of Toda flows.
