This paper studies affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties $X_{w}(b)$ in the affine flag variety of a quasi-split tamely ramified group. We describe the geometric structure of $X_{w}(b)$ for a minimal length element $w$ in the conjugacy class of an extended affine Weyl group, generalizing one of the main results in \cite{HL} to the affine case. We then provide a reduction method that relates the structure of $X_{w}(b)$ for arbitrary elements $w$ in the extended affine Weyl group to those associated with minimal length elements. Based on this reduction, we establish a connection between the dimension of affine Deligne-Lusztig varieties and the degree of the class polynomial of affine Hecke algebras. As a consequence, we prove a conjecture of G\"ortz, Haines, Kottwitz and Reuman in \cite{GHKR}.

Given a smooth projective variety X and a smooth divisor D\subset X. We study relative Gromov-Witten invariants of (X,D) and the corresponding orbifold Gromov-Witten invariants of the r-th root stack X_{D,r}. For sufficiently large r, we prove that orbifold Gromov- Witten invariants of X_{D,r} are polynomials in r. Moreover, higher genus relative Gromov-Witten invariants of (X,D) are exactly the constant terms of the corresponding higher genus orbifold Gromov-Witten invari- ants of X_{D,r}. We also provide a new proof for the equality between genus zero relative and orbifold Gromov-Witten invariants, originally proved by Abramovich-Cadman-Wise. When r is sufficiently large and X=C is a curve, we prove that stationary relative invariants of C are equal to the stationary orbifold invariants in all genera.

We study the geometry of the p‑adic analogues of the complex analytic period spaces first introduced by Griffiths. More precisely, we prove the Fargues–Rapoport conjecture for p‑adic period domains: for a reductive group G over a p‑adic field and a minuscule cocharacter μ of G, the weakly admissible locus coincides with the admissible one if and only if the Kottwitz set B(G,μ) is fully Hodge–Newton decomposable.
