In this paper, we compute the adiabatic limit of the scalar curvature and prove several vanishing theorems by taking adiabatic limits. As an application, we give a Kastler-Kalau-Walze type theorem for foliations.

We describe the proof that the period map from the Torelli space of Calabi-Yau manifolds to the classifying space of polarized Hodge structures is an embedding. The proof is based on the constructions of holomorphic affine structure on the Teichmller space and Hodge metric completion of the Torelli space. A canonical global holomorphic section of the holomorphic (n, 0) class on the Teichmller space is constructed.

We introduce and study a geometric heat flow to find Killing vector fields on closed Riemannian manifolds with positive sectional curvature. We study its various properties, prove the global existence of the solution to this flow, discuss its convergence and possible applications, and its relation to the Navier-Stokes equations on manifolds and Kazdan-Warner-Bourguignon-Ezin identity for conformal Killing vector fields. We also provide two new criterions on the existence of Killing vector fields. A similar flow to finding holomorphic vector fields on Khler manifolds will be studied by Li and Liu (2014).

We introduce the notions of strong local Torelli and T-class for polarized manifolds, and prove that strong local Torelli implies global Torelli theorem on the Torelli spaces for polarized manifolds in the T-class. We discuss many new examples of projective manifolds for which such global Torelli theorem holds. As applications we prove that, in these cases, a canonical completion of the Torelli space is a bounded pseudoconvex domain in complex Euclidean space, and show that generic Torelli implies global Torelli on moduli space with certain level structure.

We prove the existence of global sections trivializing the Hodge bundles on the Hodge metric completion space of the Torelli space of CalabiYau manifolds, a global splitting property of these Hodge bundles. We also prove that a compact CalabiYau manifold can not be deformed to its complex conjugate. These results answer certain open questions in the subject. A general result about certain period map to be bi-holomorphic from the Hodge metric completion space of the Torelli space of CalabiYau type manifolds to their period domains is proved and applied to the cases of K3 surfaces, cubic fourfolds, and hyperkhler manifolds.
