Let X be a smooth, projective, geometrically connected curve over a finite field Fq, and let G be a split semisimple algebraic group over Fq. Its dual group Gˆ is a split reductive group over Z. Conjecturally, any l-adic Gˆ-local system on X (equivalently, any conjugacy class of continuous homomorphisms π1(X)→Gˆ(Q¯¯¯¯l)) should be associated with an everywhere unramified automorphic representation of the group G. We show that for any homomorphism π1(X)→Gˆ(Q¯¯¯¯l) of Zariski dense image, there exists a finite Galois cover Y→X over which the associated local system becomes automorphic.

We solve the entanglement classification under stochastic local operations and classical communication (SLOCC) for general n-qubit states. For two arbitrary pure n-qubit states connected via local operations, we establish an equation between the two coefficient matrices associated with the states. The rank of the coefficient matrix is preserved under SLOCC and gives rise to a simple way of partitioning all the pure states of n qubits into different families of entanglement classes, as exemplified here. When applied to the symmetric states, this approach reveals that all the Dicke states |l,n> with l=1,..., [n/2] are inequivalent under SLOCC.

In [W], Witten considered the indices of elliptic operators on the free loop space CM of a spin manifold M. In particular the index of the formal signature operator on the loop space is exactly the elliptic genus of Landweber-Stong-Ochanine [LS],[O]. Motivated by physics, Witten made the conjectures about the rigidity of these elliptic operators which say that their 51-equivariant indices on M are independent of g G Sl. See [L] for the early history of the subject.

In this paper, we derive some local a priori estimates for the Ricci flow. This gives rise to some strong uniqueness theorems. As a corollary, let g(t) be a smooth complete solution to the Ricci flow on R3, with the canonical Euclidean metric E as initial data, then g(t) is trivial, i.e. g(t) ≡ E.

In this paper, results on removable singularities for analytic functions, harmonic functions and subharmonic functions by Besicovitch, Carleson, and Shapiro are extended. In each theorem, we need not assume that$f$has the global property at any point, so we are able to allow dense sets of singularities. We do not state our results in terms of exceptional sets, but each one leads to a series of results implying that certain sets are removable for appropriate classes of functions.
