We study the tensor product decomposition of the split real quantum group Uqq~(sl(2,R)) from the perspective of finite dimensional representation theory of compact quantum groups. It is known that the class of positive representations of Uqq~(sl(2,R)) is closed under taking tensor product. In this paper, we show that one can derive the corresponding Hilbert space decomposition, given explicitly by quantum dilogarithm transformations, from the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients of the tensor product decomposition of finite dimensional representations of the compact quantum group Uq(sl2) by solving certain functional equations and using normalization arising from tensor products of canonical basis. We propose a general strategy to deal with the tensor product decomposition for the higher rank split real quantum group Uqq~(gR)

In the ¯rst Heisenberg group H1 with its sub-Riemannian structure generated by the horizontal subbundle, we single out a class of C2 non-characteristic entire intrinsic graphs which we call strict graphical strips. We prove that such strict graphical strips have vanishing horizontal mean curvature (i.e., they are H-minimal) and are unstable (i.e., there exist compactly supported deformations for which the second variation of the horizontal perimeter is strictly negative). We then show that, modulo left-translations and rotations about the center of the group, every C2 entire Hminimal graph with empty characteristic locus and which is not a vertical plane contains a strict graphical strip. Combining these results we prove the conjecture that in H1 the only stable C2 Hminimal entire graphs, with empty characteristic locus, are thevertical planes.

Luttinger surgery is used to produce minimal symplectic 4- manifolds with small Euler characteristics. We construct a minimal symplectic 4-manifold which is homeomorphic but not diffeomorphic to CP2#3CP 2 , and which contains a genus two symplectic surface with trivial normal bundle and simply-connected complement. We also construct a minimal symplectic 4-manifold which is homeomorphic but not diffeomorphic to 3CP2#5CP 2 , and which contains two disjoint essential Lagrangian tori such that the complement of the union of the tori is simply-connected. These examples are used to construct minimal symplectic manifolds with Euler characteristic 6 and fundamental group Z, Z3, or Z/p ⊕ Z/q ⊕ Z/r for integers p, q, r. Given a group G presented with g generators and r relations, a symplectic 4-manifold with fundamental group G and Euler characteristic 10 + 6(g + r) is constructed.

The edges of a complete graph on$n$vertices are assigned i.i.d. random costs from a distribution for which the interval [0,$t$] has probability asymptotic to$t$as$t$→0 through positive values. In this so called pseudo-dimension 1 mean field model, we study several optimization problems, of which the traveling salesman is the best known. We prove that, as$n$→∞, the cost of the minimum traveling salesman tour converges in probability to a certain number, approximately 2.0415, which is characterized analytically.

We introduce filtered cohomologies of differential forms on symplectic manifolds. They generalize and include the cohomologies discussed in Papers I and II as a subset. The filtered cohomologies are finite-dimensional and can be associated with differential elliptic complexes. Algebraically, we show that the filtered cohomologies give a two-sided resolution of Lefschetz maps, and thereby, they are directly related to the kernels and cokernels of the Lefschetz maps. We also introduce a novel, non-associative product operation on differential forms for symplectic manifolds. This product generates an A-infinity algebra structure on forms that underlies the filtered cohomologies and gives them a ring structure. As an application, we demonstrate how the ring structure of the filtered cohomologies can distinguish different symplectic four-manifolds in the context of a circle times a fibered three-manifold.
