In this paper, we build the unfolding approach from acyclic sign-skew-symmetric matrices of finite rank to skew-symmetric matrices of infinite rank, which can be regard as an improvement of that in the skew-symmetrizable case. Using this approach, we give a positive answer to the problem by Berenstein, Fomin and Zelevinsky in [6] which asks whether an acyclic signskew- symmetric matrix is always totally sign-skew-symmetric. As applications, the positivity for cluster algebras in acyclic sign-skew-symmetric case is given; further, the F-polynomials of cluster algebras are proved to have constant term 1 in acyclic sign-skew-symmetric case.

We prove that any derived equivalence between triangular algebras is standard, that is, it is isomorphic to the derived tensor functor given by a two-sided tilting complex.

For a Calabi-Yau triangulated category $\mathcal{C}$ of Calabi-Yau dimension $d$ with a $d-$cluster tilting subcategory $\mathcal{T}$, the decomposition of $\mathcal{C}$ is determined by the decomposition of $\mathcal{T}$ satisfying "vanishing condition" of negative extension groups, namely, $\mathcal{C}=\oplus_{i\in I}\mathcal{C}_i$, where $\mathcal{C}_i, i\in I$ are triangulated subcategories, if and only if $\mathcal{T}=\oplus_{i\in I}\mathcal{T}_i,$ where $\mathcal{T}_i, i\in I$ are subcategories with $\mbox{Hom} _{\mathcal{C}}(\mathcal{T} _i[t],\mathcal{T} _j)=0, \forall 1\leq t\leq d-2$ and $i\not= j.$ This induces that for any two cluster tilting objects $T, T'$ in a $2-$Calabi-Yau triangulated category $\mathcal{C}$, the Gabriel quivers of endomorphism algebra End$_{\mathcal{C}}T$ of $T$ is connected if and only if so is End$_{\mathcal{C}}T'$. As an application, we prove that indecomposable $2-$Calabi-Yau triangulated categories with cluster tilting objects have no non-trivial t-structures and no non-trivial co-t-structures. This allows us to give a classification of torsion pairs in those triangulated categories, and to determine further the hearts of torsion pairs in the sense of Nakaoka, which are equivalent to the module categories over the endomorphism algebras of the cores of the torsion pairs.

This paper studies a two-strain SIS epidemic model with a competing mechanism and a saturating incidence rate on complex networks. This type of incidence rate could be used to reflect the crowding effect of the infective individuals. We first obtain the associated reproduction numbers for each of the two strains which determine the existence of the boundary equilibria. Stability of the disease-free and boundary equilibria are further examined. Besides, we also show that the two competing strains can coexist under certain conditions. Interestingly, the saturating incidence rate can have specific effects on not only the stability of the boundary equilibria, but also the existence of the coexistence equilibrium. Numerical simulations are presented to support the theoretical results.

This paper studies the dynamics of a network-based SIS epidemic model with nonmonotone incidence rate. This type of nonlinear incidence can be used to describe the psychological effect of certain diseases spread in a contact network at high infective levels. We first find a threshold value for the transmission rate. This value completely determines the dynamics of the model and interestingly, the threshold is not dependent on the functional form of the nonlinear incidence rate. Furthermore, if the transmission rate is less than or equal to the threshold value, the disease will die out. Otherwise, it will be permanent. Numerical experiments are given to illustrate the theoretical results. We also consider the effect of the nonlinear incidence on the epidemic dynamics.
