The topological center of the spectrum of the Weyl algebra$W$, i.e. the norm closure of the algebra generated by the set of functions $\{n\mapsto\lambda^{n^{i}};\lambda\in\mathbb{T}\mbox{ and }i\in\mathbb {N}\}$ , is characterized in a recent paper by$Jabbari$and$Namioka$(Ellis group and the topological center of the flow generated by the map $n\mapsto \lambda^{n^{k}}$ , to appear in$Milan J. Math.$). By the techniques essentially used in the cited paper, the topological center of the spectrum of the subalgebra$W$_{$k$}, the norm closure of the algebra generated by the set of functions $\{n\mapsto\lambda^{n^{i}};\lambda\in\mathbb{T}\mbox{ and }i=0,1,2,\ldots,k\}$ , will be characterized, for all$k$∈ℕ. Also an example of a non-minimal dynamical system, with the enveloping semigroup Σ, for which the set of all continuous elements of Σ is not equal to the topological center of Σ, is given.

In this paper, we generalize the$A$_{∞}extrapolation theorem ($Cruz-Uribe–Martell–Pérez$, Extrapolation from$A$_{∞}weights and applications,$J. Funct. Anal.$$213$(2004), 412–439) and the$A$_{$p$}extrapolation theorem of Rubio de Francia to Schrödinger settings. In addition, we also establish weighted vector-valued inequalities for Schrödinger-type maximal operators by using weights belonging to $A_{p}^{\rho,\infty }$ which includes$A$_{$p$}. As applications, we establish weighted vector-valued inequalities for some Schrödinger-type operators.

We show that the spinning magnetic one-brane in minimal five-dimensional supergravity admits a decoupling limit that interpolates smoothly between a self-dual null orbifold of AdS_3 \times S^2 and the near-horizon limit of the extremal Kerr black hole times a circle. We use this interpolating solution to understand the field theory dual to spinning M5 branes as a deformation of the Discrete Light Cone Quantized (DLCQ) Maldacena-Stominger-Witten (MSW) CFT. In particular, the conformal weights of the operators dual to the deformation around AdS_3 \times S^2 are calculated. We present pieces of evidence showing that a CFT dual to the four-dimensional extremal Kerr can be obtained from the deformed MSW CFT.

In this article, we classify all standard invariants that can arise from a composed inclusion of an A3with an A4subfactor. More precisely, if N⊂P is an A3subfactor and P⊂M is an A4subfactor, then only four standard invariants can arise from the composed inclusion N⊂M. We answer a question posed by Bisch and Haagerup in 1994. The techniques of this paper also show that there are exactly four standard invariants for the composed inclusion of two A4subfactors.

We study the vanishing viscosity of the Navier-Stokes equations for interacting shocks. Given an entropy solution to <i>p</i>-system which consists of two different families of shocks interacting at some positive time, we show that such entropy solution is the vanishing viscosity limit of a family of global smooth solutions to the isentropic Navier-Stokes equations. The key point of the proofs is to derive the estimates separately before and after the interaction time and connect the incoming and outgoing viscous shock profiles.
