This paper establishes the hyper-contractivity in L∞ (ℝd) (it's known as ultra-contractivity) for the multi-dimensional Keller-Segel systems with the dif;fusion exponent m > 1 -2/d. The results show that for the supercritical and critical case 1 - 2/d < m ≤ 2 - 2/d, if || U0||d(2-m)/2) < Cd, m where Cd, m is a universal constant, then for any t > 0, || u (⋅, t)|| ... is bounded and decays as t goes to infinity, For the subcritical case m > 2 - 2/d, the solution u (⋅, t) ∈ L∞ (ℝd) with any initial data U0 ∈ L1+ (ℝd) for any positive time.

The dynamic stability of vortex solutions to the Ginzburg-Landau and nonlinear Schrdinger equations is the basic assumption of the asymptotic particle plus field description of interacting vortices. For the Ginzburg-Landau dynamics we prove that all vortices are asymptotically nonlinearly stable relative to small radial perturbations. Initially finite energy perturbations of vortices decay to zero in<i>L</i> ^<i>p</i>(²) spaces with an algebraic rate as time tends to infinity. We also prove that under general (nonradial) perturbations, the plus and minus one-vortices are linearly dynamically stable in<i>L</i> ²; the linearized operator has spectrum equal to (, 0] and generates a<i>C</i> ₀ semigroup of contractions on<i>L</i> ²(²). The nature of the zero energy point is clarified; it is<i>resonance</i>, a property related to the infinite energy of planar vortices. From a variational perspective, we derive a series of magnetization and quantum spin current systems coupled via an “s-d” potential term, including the Schrödinger--Landau--Lifshitz--Maxwell system, the Pauli--Landau--Lifshitz system, and the Schrödinger--Landau--Lifshitz system with successive simplifications. For the latter two systems, we propose using the time splitting spectral method for the quantum spin current and the Gauss--Seidel projection method for the magnetization. Accuracy of the time splitting spectral method applied to the Pauli equation is analyzed and verified by numerous examples. Moreover, behaviors of the Schrödinger--Landau--Lifshitz system in different “s-d” coupling regimes are explored numerically.

In this work, we consider the numerical solution of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a highly oscillatory potential (NLSE-OP). The NLSE-OP is a model problem which frequently occurs in recent studies of some multiscale dynamical systems, where the potential introduces wide temporal oscillations to the solution and causes numerical difficulties. We aim to analyze rigorously the error bounds of the splitting schemes for solving the NLSE-OP to a fixed time. Our theoretical results show that the Lie–Trotter splitting scheme is uniformly and optimally accurate at the first order provided that the oscillatory potential is integrated exactly, while the Strang splitting scheme is not. Our results apply to general dispersive or wave equations with an oscillatory potential. The error estimates are confirmed by numerical results.

We introduce a new mean field kinetic model for systems of rational agents interacting in a game-theoretical framework. This model is inspired from non-cooperative anonymous games with a continuum of players and Mean-Field Games. The large time behavior of the system is given by a macroscopic closure with a Nash equilibrium serving as the local thermodynamic equilibrium. An application of the presented theory to a social model (herding behavior) is discussed.
