In this note, we prove a sharp lower bound for the log canonical threshold of a plurisubharmonic function $${\varphi}$$ with an isolated singularity at 0 in an open subset of $${\mathbb{C}^n}$$ . This threshold is defined as the supremum of constants$c$> 0 such that $${e^{-2c\varphi}}$$ is integrable on a neighborhood of 0. We relate $${c(\varphi)}$$ to the intermediate multiplicity numbers $${e_j(\varphi)}$$ , defined as the Lelong numbers of $${(dd^c\varphi)^j}$$ at 0 (so that in particular $${e_0(\varphi)=1}$$ ). Our main result is that $${c(\varphi)\geqslant\sum_{j=0}^{n-1} e_j(\varphi)/e_{j+1}(\varphi)}$$ . This inequality is shown to be sharp; it simultaneously improves the classical result $${c(\varphi)\geqslant 1/e_1(\varphi)}$$ due to Skoda, as well as the lower estimate $${c(\varphi)\geqslant n/e_n(\varphi)^{1/n}}$$ which has received crucial applications to birational geometry in recent years. The proof consists in a reduction to the toric case, i.e. singularities arising from monomial ideals.

This paper establishes the hyper-contractivity in L∞ (ℝd) (it's known as ultra-contractivity) for the multi-dimensional Keller-Segel systems with the dif;fusion exponent m > 1 -2/d. The results show that for the supercritical and critical case 1 - 2/d < m ≤ 2 - 2/d, if || U0||d(2-m)/2) < Cd, m where Cd, m is a universal constant, then for any t > 0, || u (⋅, t)|| ... is bounded and decays as t goes to infinity, For the subcritical case m > 2 - 2/d, the solution u (⋅, t) ∈ L∞ (ℝd) with any initial data U0 ∈ L1+ (ℝd) for any positive time.

Abstract We prove the convergence of the vortex blob method for a family of nonlinear evolutionary partial differential equations (PDEs), the so-called b-equation. This kind of PDEs, including the Camassa-Holm equation and the Degasperis-Procesi equation, has many applications in diverse scientific fields. Our convergence analysis also provides a proof for the existence of the global weak solution to the b-equation when the initial data is a nonnegative Radon measure with compact support.

We consider the kinetic Fokker-Planck equation with a class of general force. We prove the existence and uniqueness of a positive normalized equilibrium (in the case of a gen- eral force) and establish some exponential rate of convergence to the equilibrium (and the rate can be explicitly computed). Our results improve results about classical force to general force case. Our result also improve the rate of convergence for the Fitzhugh-Nagumo equation from non-quantitative to quantitative explicit rate.

We prove global existence and a modified scattering property for the solutions of the 2D gravity water waves system in the infinite depth setting for a class of initial data, which is only required to be small above the level \dot{H}^{1/5}\times \dot{H}^{1/2+1/5}. No assumption is made below this level. Therefore, the nonlinear solution can have infinite energy. As a direct consequence, the momentum condition assumed on the physical velocity in all previous small energy results by Ionescu‐Pusateri, Alazard‐Delort, and Ifrim‐Tataru is removed.
