Nous considérons un modèle provenant de la biologie, composé d03équations de chimiotactisme couplées aux équations de fluide visqueux incompressible par le transport et le for04age externe. L03existence globale des solutions du problème de Cauchy est étudiée sous certaines conditions. Précisément, pour le système chimiotactisme–Navier–Stokes en deux dimensions d03espace, nous obtenons l03existence globale pour des données grandes. En trois dimensions d03espace, nous démontrons l03existence globale des solutions faibles pour le système chimiotactisme–Stokes avec une diffusion non-linéaire de la densité des cellules.

We establish several gradient estimates for second-order divergence type parabolic and elliptic systems. The coefficients and data are assumed to be Hlder or Dini continuous in the time variable and all but one spatial variable. This type of system arises from the problems of linearly elastic laminates and composite materials. For the proof, we use Campanatos approach in a novel way. Non-divergence type equations under similar conditions are also discussed.

We present and analyze two numerical methods for the logarithmic Schrödinger equation (LogSE) consisting of a regularized splitting method and a regularized conservative Crank–Nicolson finite difference method (CNFD). In order to avoid numerical blow-up and/or to suppress round-off error due to the logarithmic nonlinearity in the LogSE, a regularized logarithmic Schrödinger equation (RLogSE) with a small regularized parameter 0<ε≪1 is adopted to approximate the LogSE with linear convergence rate O(ε). Then we use the Lie–Trotter splitting integrator to solve the RLogSE and establish its error bound O(τ^{1/2}ln(ε^{−1})) with τ>0 the time step, which implies an error bound at O(ε+τ^{1/2}ln(ε^{−1})) for the LogSE by the Lie–Trotter splitting method. In addition, the CNFD is also applied to discretize the RLogSE, which conserves the mass and energy in the discretized level. Numerical results are reported to confirm our error bounds and to demonstrate rich and complicated dynamics of the LogSE.

In this paper, we are concerned with the one-species VlasovPoissonBoltzmann system with a nonconstant background density in full space. There exists a stationary solution when the background density is a small perturbation of a positive constant state. We prove the nonlinear stability of solutions to the Cauchy problem near the stationary state in some Sobolev space without any time derivatives. This result is nontrivial even when the background density is a constant state. In the proof, the macroscopic balance laws are essentially used to deal with the a priori estimates on both the microscopic and macroscopic parts of the solution. Moreover, some interactive energy functionals are introduced to overcome difficulty stemming from the absence of time derivatives in the energy functional.

We study a generalized ergodic problem (E), which is a Hamilton-Jacobi equation of contact type, in the flat n-dimensional torus. We first obtain existence of solutions to this problem under quite general assumptions. Various examples are presented and analyzed to show that (E) does not have unique solutions in general. We then study uniqueness structures of solutions to (E) in the convex setting by using the nonlinear adjoint method.
