This paper develops a novel computational technique to define and construct manifold splines with only one singular point by employing the rigorous mathematical theory of Ricci flow. The central idea and new computational paradigm of manifold splines are to systematically extend the algorithmic pipeline of spline surface construction from any planar domain to an arbitrary topology. As a result, manifold splines can unify planar spline representations as their special cases. Despite its earlier success, the existing manifold spline framework is plagued by the topology-dependent, large number of singular points (ie,| 2 g 2| for any genus-g surface), where the analysis of surface behaviors such as continuity remains extremely difficult. By studying modular invariance properties of some characteristic forms, we get some new anomaly cancellation formulas on (4 r 1) dimensional manifolds. As an application, we derive some results on divisibilities of the index of Toeplitz operators on (4 r 1) dimensional spin manifolds and some congruent formulas on characteristic number for (4 r 1) dimensional spin c manifolds.

We prove that the number of critical points of a Li–Tam Green’s function on a complete open Riemannian surface of finite type admits a topological upper bound, given by the first Betti number of the surface. In higher dimensions, we show that there are no topological upper bounds on the number of critical points by constructing, for each nonnegative integer N, a Riemannian manifold diffeomorphic to Rn (n > 3) whose minimal Green’s function has at least N non-degenerate critical points. Variations on the method of proof of the latter result yield contractible n-manifolds whose minimal Green’s functions have level sets diffeomorphic to any fixed codimension 1 compact submanifold of R^n.

Let  $\sum$ be a complete minimal Lagrangian submanifold of $\mathbb{C}^n$. We identify regions in the Grassmannian of Lagrangian subspaces so that whenever the image of the Gauss map of $\sum$ lies in one of these regions, then  $\sum$ is an affine space.

We further develop the asymptotic analytic approach to the study of scattering diagrams. We do so by analyzing the asymptotic behavior of Maurer--Cartan elements of a differential graded Lie algebra constructed from a (not-necessarily tropical) monoid-graded Lie algebra. In this framework, we give alternative differential geometric proofs of the consistent completion of scattering diagrams, originally proved by Kontsevich--Soibelman, Gross--Siebert and Bridgeland. We also give a geometric interpretation of theta functions and their wall-crossing. In the tropical setting, we interpret Maurer--Cartan elements, and therefore consistent scattering diagrams, in terms of the refined counting of tropical disks. We also describe theta functions, in both their tropical and Hall algebraic settings, in terms of distinguished flat sections of the Maurer--Cartan-deformed differential. In particular, this allows us to give a combinatorial description of Hall algebra theta functions for acyclic quivers with non-degenerate skew-symmetrized Euler forms.
