We consider inverse curvature flows in $\Hh$ with star-shaped initial hypersurfaces and prove that the flows exist for all time, and that the leaves converge to infinity, become strongly convex exponentially fast and also more and more totally umbilic. After an appropriate rescaling the leaves converge in $C^\infty$ to a sphere.

We prove curvature estimates for general curvature functions. As an application we show the existence of closed, strictly convex hypersurfaces with prescribed curvature $F$, where the defining cone of $F$ is $\C_+$. $F$ is only assumed to be monotone, symmetric, homogeneous of degree $1$, concave and of class $C^{m,\al}$, $m\ge4$.

In this paper, we first derive the CR analogue of matrix Li–Yau–Hamilton inequality for the positive solution to the CR heat equation in a closed pseudohermitian (2n + 1)-manifold with nonnegative bisectional curvature and bitorsional tensor. We then obtain the CR Li–Yau gradient estimate in the Heisenberg group. We apply this CR gradient estimate and extend the CR matrix Li–Yau–Hamilton inequality to the case of the Heisenberg group. As a consequence, we derive the Hessian comparison property for the Heisenberg group.

We define enlargeable length-structures on closed topological manifolds and then show that the connected sum of a closed n-manifold with an enlargeable Riemannian length-structure with an arbitrary closed smooth manifold carries no Riemannian metrics with positive scalar curvature. We show that closed smooth manifolds with a locally CAT(0)-metric which is strongly equivalent to a Riemannian metric are examples of closed manifolds with an enlargeable Riemannian length-structure. Moreover, the result is correct in arbitrary dimensions based on the main result of a recent paper by Schoen and Yau. We define the positive MV-scalar curvature on closed orientable topological manifolds and show the compactly enlargeable length-structures are the obstructions of its existence.
