Let X⊂Pr be an integral and non-degenerate variety. Set n:=dim(X). We prove that if the (k+n−1)-secant variety of X has (the expected) dimension (k+n−1)(n+1)−1<r and X is not uniruled by lines, then X is not k-weakly defective and hence the k-secant variety satisfies identifiability, i.e. a general element of it is in the linear span of a unique S⊂X with ♯(S)=k. We apply this result to many Segre-Veronese varieties and to the identifiability of Gaussian mixtures G1,d. If X is the Segre embedding of a multiprojective space we prove identifiability for the k-secant variety (assuming that the (k+n−1)-secant variety has dimension (k+n−1)(n+1)−1<r, this is a known result in many cases), beating several bounds on the identifiability of tensors.

Given a gauged linear sigma model (GLSM) $\mathcal{T}_{X}$ realizing a projective variety $X$ in one of its phases, i.e. its quantum K\"ahler moduli has a geometric point, we propose an \emph{extended} GLSM $\mathcal{T}_{\mathcal{X}}$ realizing the homological projective dual category $\mathcal{C}$ to $D^{b}Coh(X)$ as the category of B-branes of the Higgs branch of one of its phases. In most of the cases, the models $\mathcal{T}_{X}$ and $\mathcal{T}_{\mathcal{X}}$ are anomalous and the analysis of their Coulomb and mixed Coulomb-Higgs branches gives information on the semiorthogonal/Lefschetz decompositions of $\mathcal{C}$ and $D^{b}Coh(X)$. We also study the models $\mathcal{T}_{X_{L}}$ and $\mathcal{T}_{\mathcal{X}_{L}}$ that correspond to homological projective duality of linear sections $X_{L}$ of $X$. This explains why, in many cases, two phases of a GLSM are related by homological projective duality. We study mostly abelian examples: linear and Veronese embeddings of $\mathbb{P}^{n}$ and Fano complete intersections in $\mathbb{P}^{n}$. In such cases, we are able to reproduce known results as well as produce some new conjectures. In addition, we comment on the construction of the HPD to a nonabelian GLSM for the Pl\"ucker embedding of the Grassmannian $G(k,N)$.

We study the moduli stack of degree 0 semistable G-bundles on an irreducible curve E of arithmetic genus 1, where G is a connected reductive group. Our main result describes a partition of this stack indexed by a certain family of connected reductive subgroups H of G (the E-pseudo-Levi subgroups), where each stratum is computed in terms of bundles on H together with the action of the relative Weyl group. We show that this result is equivalent to a Jordan–Chevalley theorem for such bundles equipped with a framingat a fixed basepoint. In the case where E has a single cusp (respectively, node), this gives a new proof of the Jordan–Chevalley theorem for the Lie algebra g (respectively, group G). We also provide a Tannakian description of these moduli stacks and use it to show that if E is an ordinary elliptic curve, the collection of framed unipotent bundles on E is equivariantly isomorphic to the unipotent cone in G. Finally, we classify the E-pseudo-Levi subgroups using the Borel–de Siebenthal algorithm, and compute some explicit examples.

We give a new construction of (φ,Ĝ )-modules using the theory of prisms developed by Bhatt and Scholze. As an application, we give a new proof about the equivalence between the category of prismatic F-crystals in finite locally free Δ-modules over (K)Δ and the category of lattices in crystalline representations of GK, where K is a complete discretely valued field of mixed characteristic with perfect residue field. We also generalize this result to semi-stable representations using the absolute logarithmic prismatic site defined by Koshikawa.

We study a partially linearized version of the relative trace formula for the arithmetic Gan--Gross--Prasad conjecture for the unitary group U(V). The linear factor in this relative trace formula provides an SL_2-symmetry which allows us to prove by induction the arithmetic fundamental lemma over Q_p when p is odd and p ≥ dim V.

This paper studies a notion of enumerative invariants for stable A-branes, and discusses its relation to invariants defined by spectral and exponential networks. A natural definition of stable A-branes and their counts is provided by the string theoretic origin of the topological A-model. This is the Witten index of the supersymmetric quantum mechanics of a single D3 brane supported on a special Lagrangian in a Calabi-Yau threefold. Geometrically, this is closely related to the Euler characteristic of the A-brane moduli space. Using the natural torus action on this moduli space, we reduce the computation of its Euler characteristic to a count of fixed points via equivariant localization. Studying the A-branes that correspond to fixed points, we make contact with definitions of spectral and exponential networks. We find agreement between the counts defined via the Witten index, and the BPS invariants defined by networks. By extension, our definition also matches with Donaldson-Thomas invariants of B-branes related by homological mirror symmetry.

We construct the Frobenius structure on a rigid connection Be_{\hat G} on G_m for a split reductive group \hat G introduced by Frenkel-Gross. These data form a \hat G-valued overconvergent F-isocrystal Be^†_{\hat G} on G_{m,F_p}, which is the p-adic companion of the Kloosterman \hat G-local system Kl_{\hat G} constructed by Heinloth-Ngô-Yun. By studying the structure of the underlying differential equation, we calculate the monodromy group of Be^†_{\hat G} when \hat G is almost simple (which recovers the calculation of monodromy group of Kl_{\hat G} due to Katz and Heinloth–Ngô–Yun), and prove a conjecture of Heinloth-Ngô-Yun on the functoriality between different Kloosterman \hat G-local systems. We show that the Frobenius Newton polygons of Kl_{\hat G} are generically ordinary for every \hat G and are everywhere ordinary on |G_{m,F_p}| when \hat G is classical or G_2.
