In this paper we present a deterministic Cantor-type construction of linear fractal Salem sets with prescribed dimension. The construction rests on a paper of Kaufman [10] where he investigated the Fourier dimension of the set of α-well approximable numbers in$R$.

This paper is devoted to the study of the Cauchy problem in$C$^{∞}and in the Gevrey classes for some second order degenerate hyperbolic equations with time dependent coefficients and lower order terms satisfying a suitable Levi condition.

We show that sparse and Carleson coefficients are equivalent for every countable collection of Borel sets and hence, in particular, for dyadic rectangles, the case relevant to the theory of bi-parameter singular integrals. The key observation is that a dual refomulation by I. E. Verbitsky for Carleson coefficients over dyadic cubes holds also for Carleson coefficients over general sets.

Different from conventional spaceborne or airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) with optimal aperture length, an imaging radar with highly suboptimal aperture length acquires the data in short bursts by a geometry spreading over a large range. A polarlike or pseudopolar format grid is introduced to sample data close to the resolution, which presents the design of a separable kernel for efficient FFT implementation.
