We prove several rigidity theorems for elliptic genera associated to Toeplitz operators on odd dimensional spin manifolds. We also prove an equivariant odd index theorem for Dirac operators with involution parity and the Atiyah-Hirzebruch vanishing theorems for odd dimensional spin manifolds.

Given a set of mixtures, blind source separation attempts to retrieve the source signals without or with very little information of the mixing process. We present a geometric approach for blind separation of nonnegative linear mixtures termed <i>facet component analysis</i>. The approach is based on facet identification of the underlying cone structure of the data. Earlier works focus on recovering the cone by locating its vertices (vertex component analysis) based on a mutual sparsity condition which requires each source signal to possess a stand-alone peak in its spectrum. We formulate alternative conditions so that enough data points fall on the facets of a cone instead of accumulating around the vertices. We prove that all maximal-tb positive Legendrian torus links (n,m) in the standard contact 3-sphere, except for (2,m), (3,3), (3,4) and (3,5), admit infinitely many Lagrangian fillings in the standard symplectic 4-ball. This is proven by constructing infinite order Lagrangian concordances that induce faithful actions of the modular group PSL(2,Z) and the mapping class group M0,4 into the coordinate rings of algebraic varieties associated to Legendrian links. In particular, our results imply that there exist Lagrangian concordance monoids with subgroups of exponential-growth, and yield Stein surfaces homotopic to a 2-sphere with infinitely many distinct exact Lagrangian surfaces of higher-genus. We also show that there exist infinitely many satellite and hyperbolic knots with Legendrian representatives admitting infinitely many exact Lagrangian fillings.

In this paper we study the zero-viscosity limit of 2-D Boussinesq equations with vertical viscosity and zero diffusivity, which is a nonlinear system with partial dissipation arising in atmospheric sciences and oceanic circulation. The domain is taken as R2+ with Navier-type boundary. We prove the nonlinear stability of the approximate solution constructed by boundary layer expansion in conormal Sobolev space. The optimal expansion order and convergence rates for the inviscid limit are also identified in this paper. Our paper extends the partial zero-dissipation limit results of Boussinesq system with full dissipation by Chae D. [Adv.Math.203,no.2,2006] in the whole space to the case with partial dissipation and Navier boundary in the half plane.

The BMS (Bondi-van der Burg-Metzner-Sachs) symmetry arises as the asymptotic symmetry of flat spacetime at null infinity. In particular, the BMS algebra for three dimensional flat spacetime (BMS3) is generated by the super-rotation generators which form a Virasoro sub-algebra with central charge cL, together with mutually-commuting super-translation generators. The super-rotation and super-translation generators have non-trivial commutation relations with another central charge cM. In this paper, we study a free scalar theory in two dimensions exhibiting BMS3 symmetry, which can also be understood as the ultra-relativistic limit of a free scalar CFT2. Upon canonical quantization on the highest weight vacuum, the central charges are found to be cL=2 and cM=0. Because of the vanishing central charge cM=0, the theory features novel properties: there exist primary states which form a multiplet, and the Hilbert space can be organized by an enlarged version of BMS modules dubbed the staggered modules. We further calculate correlation functions and the torus partition function, the later of which is also shown explicitly to be modular invariant.
