The aim of this paper is to study the Lelong number, the integrability index and the Monge–Ampère mass at the origin of an S^1-invariant plurisubharmonic function on a balanced domain in C^n under the Schwarz symmetrization. We prove that n times the integrability index is exactly the Lelong number of the symmetrization, and if the function is further toric with a single pole at the origin, then the Monge–Ampère mass is always decreasing under the symmetrization.

The spectrum of a Schrödinger operator with a perfect honeycomb lattice potential has special points, called Dirac points, where the lowest two branches of the spectrum touch. Deformations can result in the merging and disappearance of the Dirac points, and the originally intersecting dispersion relation branches separate. Corresponding to these deformations, nonlinear envelope equations are derived and their dynamics are studied. In the region where Dirac points exist, a maximally balanced equation is derived which has limits to a nonlinear Schrödinger--Kadomtsev--Petviashvili (NLSKP)-type equation and its dispersionless reduction. When the Dirac points disappear and a gap opens, a different maximally balanced equation is derived which has the NLSKP equation and a one-dimensional nonlocal evolution equation as limits. When the gap is sufficiently wide, a nonlinear Dirac equation with nonzero mass and a nonlinear Schrödinger focusing-defocusing system are found. The latter two equations admit nonlinear localized modes. Typical dynamical behaviors of the effective envelope equations are presented.

In this paper, I study the group of analytic automorphisms of a bounded product domain in the space$C(S,C)$of continuous functions on a compact space$S$. I prove that its automorphism group is a Lie group and I am able to prove which are the bounded symmetric ones.

In this paper, we review some recent progress made in [4, 5, 6] on finite difference schemes for viscous incompressible flows using vorticity formulation. The main purpose of this series of papers [4, 5, 6] is to resurrect the idea of using local vorticity boundary condition for unsteady calculation. The emphasis is on simplicity of the methods. Three main issues will be discussed: efficient time-stepping procedures and cell Reynolds number constraints, efficient methods in 3D on non-staggered grids and efficient high order methods using compact differencing.

Let X be a compact quotient of the product of the real Heisenberg group H _4m+1 of dimension 4m + 1 and the three-dimensional real Euclidean space R ³ . A left-invariant hypercomplex structure on H _4m+1 R ³ descends onto the compact quotient X. The space X is a hyperholomorphic fibration of 4-tori over a 4m-torus. We calculate the parameter space and obstructions to deformations of this hypercomplex structure on X. Using our calculations, we show that all small deformations generate invariant hypercomplex structures on X but not all of them arise from deformations of the lattice. This is in contrast to the deformations on the 4m-torus.
