We give a simplified and more algebraic proof of the finiteness of the families of Calabi-Yau n-folds with non-vanishing of Yukawa-coupling over a fixed base curve and with fixed degeneration locus. We also give a generalization of this result. Our method is variation of Hodge structure and poly-stability of Higgs bundles.

A nonlinear, nonlocal cochlear model of the transmission line type is studied in order to capture the multitone interactions and resulting tonal suppression effects. The model can serve as a module for voice signal processing, and is a one-dimensional (in space) damped dispersive nonlinear PDE based on the mechanics and phenomenology of hearing. It describes the motion of the basilar membrane (BM0 in the cochlea driven by input pressure waves. Both elastic dampling and selective longitudinal fluid damping are present. The forner is nonlinear and nonlocal in BM displacement, and plays a kep role in capturing tonal interactions. The latter is active only near the exit boundary (helicotrema), and is built in to damp out the remaining long waves. The initial boundary value problem is numerically solved with a semi-implicit second order finite difference method. Solutions reach a multi-frequency quai-steady state

We establish a magnetic Agmon estimate in the case of a purely magnetic single non-degenerate well, by means of the Fourier–Bros–Iagolnitzer transform and microlocal exponential estimates à la Martinez–Sjöstrand.

We study the quantum sheaf cohomology of flag manifolds with deformations of the tangent bundle and use the ring structure to derive how the deformation transforms under the biholomorphic duality of flag manifolds. Realized as the OPE ring of A/2-twisted twodimensional theories with (0,2) supersymmetry, quantum sheaf cohomology generalizes the notion of quantum cohomology. Complete descriptions of quantum sheaf cohomology have been obtained for abelian gauged linear sigma models (GLSMs) and for nonabelian GLSMs describing Grassmannians. In this paper we continue to explore the quantum sheaf cohomology of nonabelian theories. We first propose a method to compute the generating relations for (0,2) GLSMs with (2,2) locus. We apply this method to derive the quantum sheaf cohomology of products of Grassmannians and flag manifolds. The dual deformation associated with the biholomorphic duality gives rise to an explicit IR duality of two A/2-twisted (0,2) gauge theories.

In this paper, we present a new algorithm to solve algebraically the following lattice-related problems: 1) the small integer solution (SIS) problem under the condition: if the solution is bounded by an integer β in l_∞ norm, which we call a bounded SIS (BSIS) problem, and if the difference between the row dimension n and the column dimension m of the corresponding basis matrix is relatively small with respect the row dimension m; 2) the learning with errors (LWE) problems under the condition: if the errors are bounded - the errors do not span the whole prime finite field F_q but a fixed known subset of size D (D < q), which we call a learning with bounded errors (LWBE) problem. We will show that we can solve these problems with polynomial complexity.
